Streeting very clear and direct this morning when interviewed on bbc breakfast. Answered every question put to him but refused to comment on the Dianne Abbott situation or the Royal Mail takeover in any details when bbc interviewer attempted to sideline him.

Message was clear, appointment waiting lists back down to levels previously hit by Labour.

There'll be a piley on Streeting any time soon.

I see the Starmerist purge of the Labour left continues. Sent to the political equivalent of Siberia to, erm, stand as independents and probably beat the new Labour candidate.

Strategist.
Rumour was that Newsnight discovered via leaks that she had been cleared in December and Starmer was waiting until after her deadline for registering as an independent (today/tomorrow?) to drop her from standing for the LP. If true, Starmer reappointing her yesterday was a fire quenching response to that and very shady behaviour. Besides all the Machieavellian stuff, and whatever one thinks of Abbot, she's played no small part in the majority she's held in her constituency and this, again, if true, shows a complete lack of respect for the Labour worker and what she's achieved and the constituents.

As long your not Jewish or Gypsy/Traveler Diane is on your side.

Are you saying the people mistrust the left? They see them as deeply suspicious characters to be purged and sidelined?

….i think the majority of the electorate likes centerists, be it left or right of centre. It’s the way to get elected and Starmer has been smart enough to recognise that. The Conservatives could now spend a spell in the wilderness with their disturbing swing to the right.

Party’s have to be electable. Starmer’s purge won’t stop popularist policy like nationalisation if they manage a 2nd term. He’s doing a terrific job.

Indeed.
Just don't speak of Long Bailey Burgon McDonnell etc. These people of "the left" have uncanny ability not to splurge out highly offensive remarks just to be trendy with woe is me "professional protester".

Sadly the right have an uncanny ability to respond to things that they think (or would prefer) were said, rather than what was.

Some of the people at the top of the current Labour Party are very, very dodgy indeed and would be no improvement on the Tories in government. I’ll be here for you when you realise that.

Be like the WMD Gulf war and Brexit crowd that mate. Don't hold your breath.

…..there’ll be a significant improvement in public services, I have absolutely no doubt about that. Conservatives buying Pensioner votes with increases when what matters more is how long they’d have to wait for an ambulance and sitting for hours on a trolley in a hospital corridor.

Different priorities, the party’s are nowhere near the same but it’s an easy line to take.

He has changed his tune over the past few years him.

He called Starmer from the off a Trojan horse Tory but he has gladly climbed into that horse.

The sad thing is Eggs is that it should be easy to deliver a significant improvement in public services, and a reduction in spending too - but they (on public statements at least) don’t appear to be planning the things that would allow that.

Since he’s been mentioned today, look at Streeting’s repeated statements about using the private sector to cut NHS waiting times; this is fundamentally what successive governments including the current one have had as a policy since the turn of the century and it’s never worked.

It just siphons off capability and cash from the NHS because they invariably allow private healthcare firms to continue to operate normally as well, meaning they provide nowhere near enough help yet at a premium cost. The only answer is paying for more NHS capacity, but they aren’t going to be doing that (but they imply they will, just as Johnson did in 2019).
