2025/26 Tyler Dibling

If he didn't he wouldn't be in the squad.
The lad has bundles of talent he can show on a daily basis because a training pitch is a comfort blanket.

A full stadium has no blanket..

Armstrong was praised by Moyes who said he was bringing him back to be involved with every game.

Cant even make the bench now.

I wonder if Armstrong is 'homesick' as well.

Lol

I dont think there’s much in these rumours about his love of the game or attitude etc. All I’m seeing is a somewhat introverted 19/20 year old undergoing a massive change in his personal life.
If it is just being an introvert it’s probably not helping him as he’ll be less willing to ask Moyes why he’s not playing etc.

I’m convinced his style of play simply isn’t what Moyes wants and he’s either trying to coach him into something else or simply isn’t having him full stop, either way makes his purchase all the more weird.
Clubs don’t spend £40m on prodigal youngsters if they don’t have something about them, Everton certainly shouldn’t be when the limitations of the first 11 were there for all to see.
If its disillusionment or genuine lack of interest in being a footballer, where was Moyes much lauded due diligence on character during the months of pursuit of him?

His situation got me thinking about Boss Rarkleys roles in Moyes last season compared to Martinez first:

Suppose that will be dismissed as Moyes getting Barkley ready for the prem rather than seeing him as risk he wasn’t prepared to play.……
I guess what happens to Dibling next season will be insightful.

*table edited to include loans but the point remains, he wasn’t deemed good enough for our team one season, but was a starter and selected for England under a different manager the next.

Wide players who don't track back have to be goal machines (Salah, Hazard, Saka, Diaz, etc.) otherwise they aren't ever becoming starters. PL sides can't afford any passengers in the line up nowadays.

It's a bit of both IMO. Should Moyes have given him more chances? Yes. Has the player done enough so far? Nope.

He'll surely play more next season. If we get Europe I expect him, Armstrong, Iroegbunam and Barry (if he's still here) to be used exclusively in those games.

I saw an old friend couple of weeks ago whose nipper is in our academy and he said he something interesting about Tyler.

Apparently around this time last year he was confiding in friends that he really wasn't enjoying the life of a professional footballer and everything which came with it.

He loved coming up in youth football and playing with all his mates etc (I suspect the fact he found it so easy played a part too) but had struggled with the switch to first team and the associated pressures.

Obviously I have no way of knowing for certain if this is true, but the bloke in question I go back 30 years with so see no reason why he'd lie, and it might partially explain why hes struggling to settle so much up there.

I'm sure some will shoot me down for this but sharing anyway as reckon plenty would find it interesting.

Personally I hope it's not true / he gets over it as otherwise he'll definitely never reach his clearly very high potential.
So, when Tyler Dibling was at Southampton and over 4 months before he signed for Everton and relocated? Presumably this “nipper” is a dab hand at telecom surveillance and has an undercover mole infiltrated deep within the South coast…

Yeah, sounds right…

….i honestly doubt he does, certainly not if he’s not enjoying the game. There’s no hiding place among professionals, they test young players character (some great quotes from Harrison Armstrong about how he was tested in his first sessions at Preston).
Harrison clearly hasn’t settled away from Preston, must have “character” issues and isn’t doing enough in training to get in to the matchday squad. This is what you keep repeating about other young players, especially Dibling, so must be true about him, right?

Dibling IS getting in the squad every week btw, just doesn’t get a single minute to grow as a player which is fundamentally terrible management, especially when McNeil who has had about 300 minutes worth of football this season looking like a professional footballer and the rest he’s looked every inch as much as a liability that a “young” or “inexperienced” player Moyes would deem to be.

Moyes has literally just said hes not going to give young players a chance when theres things to play for - when questioned on Braiden Graham joining the squad for West Ham.

He said he'll have to perform in preseason and see if he shows something then

Basically underling what some believe that Moyes writes an 11 down at the start of the season and goes with it as much as he can.

You have ONE CHANCE a season with Moyes and thats preseason.

Talk about demotivating, depressing and basically a stupid approach when most other managers use their squads.

Lets assume Armstrong is homesick as well lol

Delusional people making up stories and lies to support this manager.

Just take Moyes or leave him at face value, he doesnt hide his contempt for others.
