Just finished the Madeleine McCann series on Netflix... my overriding memory of the series will be that reconstruction in the final episode with the guy in the surgical mask creeping into the bedroom, that was the stuff of nightmares.

Pike lineup was a bit underwhelming but still, gruesome stuff. Next week should make for a decent finale, then back to war again in season ten. Needs to be wound down over the next couple of seasons. Get these films done, and give it all an ending.

This weeks 24 Hours in Police Custody was a difficult watch - teenage stabbing after teenage stabbing.

It was absolutely horrendous viewing, what happened to a punch up after school to sort out your differences, walk away with a black eye and bust nose and that was that.

We need to build more jails and drill it into these youths they will ruin their lives carrying knives, tougher sentences are needed.

Not the answer mate. Most of these guys are from single parent homes, no real male role model, roaming the streets for hours, no real discipline. Need to get to them BEFORE all this.

Nevermind ruining your life, murdering someone you've never met, stabbing him a dozen times, all over a bit of staring between a mate and someone out with his girlfriend, absolutely braindead behaviour, it was a shocking watch it really was.

Bollocks, growing up in single parent households is not something new and has nothing to do with carrying lethal weapons when you walk about the streets, you carry knives you should get 10 years mandatory, and give the police better stop and search powers to drill it in that carry a knife will ruin your life.

Well I was one of these kids, jail was not a deterrent. Perhaps if I had had a dad and some support I would not have ended up the way I did. Trust me when I tell you that an overwhelming percentage of these kids have no father figure, it is a recognised pattern. They know they will go to jail yet still commit the crime so your 10 years mandatory does nothing but turn us into the US with millions of young men inside cos no one taught them how to behave.
