TV Series

Just finished the last episode of The Passage (directed by ex-Radio One DJ Mark Tonderai, rather well actually). It's... not terrible, not brilliant either. Possibly unlikely it'll get another series which is a shame as it's just starting to get to the, ahem, 'meat' of the novel.

@COYBL25

just a few thoughts on this, it sticks pretty closely to the first part of the novel, dealing with project Noah and the outbreak and leaves a second series to open with part two.

Obviously you always have your own vision of what characters are like, but there are a few significant changes.

'Amy' is a very different character, but it works ok, the young actress is very good in the role, and the bond with 'The Agent' works well, I don't have any issues with the change.

The Sister Lacey character is gone, the role replaced by a mishmash of others.

'Tim Fanning' is much more prominent and the primary antagonist. Which leads to the biggest alteration...

Babcock. This is a massive change, and it'll be the most problematic for fans of the book, although it adds some interesting dynamics, and in truth is a more complex character. In reality it might have been a difficult sell having two similar antagonists on a TV show aiming for network ratings. If they get another series, it'll be interesting to see if the character more becomes the malevolent force from the book.

It was a wasted opportunity.

Had all the potential to be a masterpiece.

It's odd how The Line of Duty adverts say from the makes of Bodyguard considering Line of Duty is 1000 times better.

Hope it doesn't go too OTT like the the whole of Bodyguard and the finale's of the last two series' of LoD.

Bodyguard was very popular though, so they were always going to flag up the connection. In my opinion, Line of Duty is the best cop drama in British TV history and I can't wait for it to return.

Actually just started watching the first season of Line of Duty. Gutted when I found out that Steve Arnott is going to be the main character throughout all the seasons, rather than Tony Gates. He's an irritating little weasel
