TV Series

Love, Death and Robots.

I watched all 18 episodes on Friday night/Saturday morning. Some of the animation was mindblowing. It's getting to a point where in a few years, CGI will look 100% real. The opportunities that will open up for the estates of dead actors is immense. I predict than within a decade, we'll be watching new movies with old, dead 'actors' in them.

As for LD&R, it was a welcome change of pace, and some of it was genuinely thought provoking.

Actually just started watching the first season of Line of Duty. Gutted when I found out that Steve Arnott is going to be the main character throughout all the seasons, rather than Tony Gates. He's an irritating little weasel

I thought that at first. I hated Arnott because he was a by-the-book boy scout. That acrimony didn't last though, he's a top lad.

Bodyguard was very popular though, so they were always going to flag up the connection. In my opinion, Line of Duty is the best cop drama in British TV history and I can't wait for it to return.

Probably agree, just hope it doesn't go down the Bodyguard route.

Yep, ain't no arguing with that.

The biggest problem is that it's 'televisual', it doesn't have the epic feel that the book has.

I had visions of the cinematography running along the lines of The Book of Eli, bleak and monochrome, with sweeping post apocalyptic landscapes and ruined cities.

Mad Max, crossed with Aliens, but with much more substance.

Let`s face it, they had 1300 plus pages to work with the Passage, so it`s not like they were short of material to work with.

I can only think that the author, Justin Cronin, was made such a ridiculous offer, that he gave up control of the production.

I haven`t watched it yet, which speaks volumes really.

We've not really seen anything of that side of story yet, it's all been the build up, but you're right, and I can't see them going for anything that ambitious if it does run for a second season, not on a network show, particularly one that's just been bought by Disney.

Cronin is an executive producer, although I think he sold the rights years ago?

Executive produce can mean anything really ?

I was just very surprised that he didn`t want total control of it, as he delayed the third book by at least two years until he was 100% happy with the final draft, despite being under enormous pressure from the publishers to do so.

I thought he`d be as obsessive about the series tbh.

Figurehead I think. Looking into it, he sold the rights to Ridley Scott before the book was even finished.
