TV Series

Got about halfway through season 1 this week, I think it's brilliant. Reminds me of Futurama

Have you seen the episode with Mr Meeseeks, Kiwi? Or the one where everyone turns into a praying mantis?

You got to stick with it. It got me at the end of the first one when he's deranged and yelling at Morty 'Hundred years! Rick and Morty Hundred Years!' while Morty is convulsing after the having the mega seed up his butt.

It's on TV. It's a series.
Strictly is back.
I don't give a Tom Tit of the howls of horror from the hard core of the TV pundits.
What bloke can resist beading the women?
Gemma Atkinson, and Charlotte Hawkins. Enough said.

Seeing trailers for The Deuce starting on Sky Atlantic next week. It looks good.
I like anything that depicts the seedy side of New York in the sixties and seventies like Midnight Cowboy and Serpico.
Throw in the likelihood of some titties and arse so it's in my planner.

God, I love Twin Peaks but this series is seriously testing my patience

Where has all the charm gone?

God I love Twin Peaks. Has me thinking about it for days after.

Three episodes into Twin Peaks (the original series) now. Feared it would feel outdated, but it's just brilliant isn't it. And the soundtrack is among the best I've ever heard (my sister had it on cassette when I was a kid, so its great to hear some of the tracks I remember again).

I remember thinking this track was scary back then.. I guess it still is:

The new series of Twin Peaks is an extremely tough watch and this is coming from someone who is a David Lynch fan.

The average viewer will hate it with a passion. It's meant to be completely weird though, that's kind of it's thing. Its a miracle that a show as avant garde as it is has made it onto mainstream TV.

Wait until you get to the nuke episode... I'm still laughing at the thought of millions of Americans sitting down during prime time Sunday evening and being presented with that utter mindf*** of an episode.

Wife and I are big David Lynch fans, loved FWWM and Twin Peaks in the 90s, the new season of Twin Peaks is absolute genius.

wow, hardly any mention of Twin Peaks in this thread, I think these are the only references to it. We went through the lot over the last few months:

Season 1: weird, beguiling, charming 9/10

Season 2: has the best scene in all of classic Peaks, namely Cooper quoting The Tibetan Book of the Dead to ease Leland's passing. Sheer cringe at times in the latter half of the season, tho'. Final episode amazing. 8/10

Fire Walk with me: so dark, odd and hypnotic 8/10, needs to be watched with The Missing Pieces.

Season 3: was loving it as a perfect 10/10'er, part 8 will be studied in film school in years to come. But the final two episodes disappointing: specifically
mockney's cartoon glove defeating Nintendo-Bob, the s l o w highway wordlessness of the final episode and generally not further exploring interesting things like the monster, or the giant's purpose
...tho there's some interesting meaning and even timing when syncing (on two screens) parts 17 & 18 simultaneously. 9/10 overall.

With the exception of BSG I've never watched a telly series, or season of, twice...but I think I'll make another exception with Season 3 here, give it a couple of years.

Kyle MacLachlan nailed on for the Emmy next year, surely?

its made by the same people who made the wire so I'm really looking forward to it .
