TV Series

2 eps into the third series of Peaky Blinders. Is it just me, or is it complete rubbish? First two series were sheer class, but I hate this new series. Doesn't help that neither me nor the missus have the first clue what's going on, but the general plot theme seems ludicrous and it feels it's rapidly become a very tired format. Highly doubt I'll keep watching. Such a shame.
last series gets worse mate!

If it's any consolation, it gets even more ludicrous!! Actually wish I hadn't watched series 3

Still ploughing through the box set of steptoe and son, the acting considering they did not see eye to eye in real life is fantastic, the scripts are fantastic 7 series and two films great waterfall joy when you need to take troubles of pain , and the Derby away!
Favourite episode for any fans?

Quite sad really. Harry H. Corbett was supposedly a classically trained actor but just wouldn't be taken seriously after playing Harold, was supposedly resentful of the whole thing.

The old guy had personal problems, allegedly loitering around the gents toilets he went to Australia for a long spell, and often turned up late not rehearsing his lines properly - Harry H. Corbett wanted a young Terrence Stamp to take his role, while he was in Australia, and he would swap roles , but contractually Wilfred Brambel wanted it reversing it back to how the contract stood with the BBC was - they were both great actors!
I could only imagine those two in in it tbh!

Ha. I didn't get past the first half hour of the third series for some reason. The time skip and marriage just threw me off.

I sacked it off 3 episodes into the 3rd series.

The typecast steptoe thing AND having the same name as Sooty's creator did for him...hence the 'H'
This was back then when Sooty and the whole Sooty bandwagon was that big/popular, that the name / image etc was deem too powerful and Sooty was expressly forbidden from putting his name to anything as it would effectively 'wipe out' the competition

Just finished 'Last Chance U' on Netflix. Really enjoyable, especially if you like American Football. Tells a great story.

Just started '13' and looks good after the first couple of episodes.
