TV Series

No mate, it was mid-late 60's I'm sure. I remember watching in my Grandad's house and he died late 1970.
It must have been re-run. I remember watching it and I would havd been too young then. BTW, would you agree that the opening stripping of his epaulettes, breaking of his sword and the sending on his way accompanied by the theme tune was the best part of the show.

Definitely !, that's stuck with me for 50 years, "what do you do when you're branded and you know you're a man".I can only assume the premise of the programme was him clearing his name, the other programme I associate with my grandad's is The Time Tunnel.

Catastrophe is about to start on C4. Probably the funniest thing on telly at the moment.

As for Sharon Horgan.....I'd marry her in a heartbeat.

My favourite is the funeral one; everybody is eying up the valuables - can't wait to get back after the funeral to get their hand on them...the prize piece is a small jug about 3" high..
They get back and the house has been cleared - empty, just the floorboards...with no valuables everybody leave sharpish
Just Albert and young Harold, who is bemoaning their losses, Albert says nothing, just lifts his bowler hat to reveal the jug.
Seen one tonight virtually the same actors at the funeral in the episode you mention it was Harold being stood up at his wedding absolutely brilliant great continuity to use them in that episode then later in the funeral episode onto series four now it's addictive lol
Brilliant remembering some episodes now, but not them all;)
The writing , and acting is just brilliant with cameos of famous stars to be!

Started watching that designated survivor but couldn't quite get in to it.
Just finished that precinct seven five on netflix one of the best documentaries ive seen in a long time.

Just started watching Shots Fired. Only two episodes in but seems good. Heres the blurb on the series:

Examining the dangerous aftermath of racially charged shootings in a small Southern town, SHOTS FIRED is a dramatic new event series that is a "why done it?" and a "who done it?" From Gina Prince-Bythewood ("Beyond the Lights," "The Secret Life of Bees," "Love and Basketball") and Reggie Rock Bythewood ("Beyond the Lights," "Notorious"), the 10-hour event series is an explosive look at the criminal justice system. When an African-American police officer kills an unarmed white college student, a small town in North Carolina is turned upside-down. Before the town has a chance to grapple with this tragedy, the neglected murder of an African-American teen is brought to light, re-opening wounds that threaten to tear the town apart.

Just finished watching SS-GB. What a massive disappointment that was. Not even fit to go by the same name as the magnificent book. It had a few moments of quality over the five episodes but not enough to make this series anything other then mediocre.

It was too short.

Five episodes wasn't enough to develop the plot and characters.

The ending was crap too

They were obviously looking to get a second season out of it with that ending. The problem is they haven't done enough to make me want to come back for a second season, it just doesn't interest me enough. Sam Riley was also a terrible choice to play Archer. I don't mind him in other shows but as a fan of the book he just didn't do the character justice.
