Half way through season two of True Detective.

It's good, but not in the same league as season one, which is as close to perfection as you're gonna get imo.

There's just too many people in lived in the plot, which makes it really hard to follow.

Colin Farrell does a good job with his character, but the rest are all a bit meh.

I tried it and just kept losing interest, the 1st one was close to perfection, unfortunately this hasnt reached the same heights for me,
I did watch one of your recommendations,Wayward Pines which was great, even found myself slightly aroused by the female abhoration

Having four lead actors in True Detective 2 was always going to make it hard to follow, as each has their own individual thread / plot lines.

I think they got a bit carried away with themselves after season one and tried to be too clever with season 2.

Plus in season one, the cinetography is immense too, with the swamplands and surrounds.

I genuinely don't think season one will ever be eclipsed by anything in its genre.

It really is faultless imo.

Still ploughing through the box set of steptoe and son, the acting considering they did not see eye to eye in real life is fantastic, the scripts are fantastic 7 series and two films great waterfall joy when you need to take troubles of pain , and the Derby away!
Favourite episode for any fans?

When Harrold finally manages to get a girlfriend and the dad makes him choose between them, by using every emotional bomb he can drop.

Hilarious and horrible to watch at the same time.

Superb writing and you get to see the old man for what he really is.

2 eps into the third series of Peaky Blinders. Is it just me, or is it complete rubbish? First two series were sheer class, but I hate this new series. Doesn't help that neither me nor the missus have the first clue what's going on, but the general plot theme seems ludicrous and it feels it's rapidly become a very tired format. Highly doubt I'll keep watching. Such a shame.
