Got back from Tenerife yesterday, enjoyable break even if (according to locals) unseasonably cool and windy weather. Was a bit concerned before we went about the reported delays at the gates due to the new EEC electronic entry/exit rules. On arrival went through in a couple of minutes - no problem. Coming back a different story, basically if you delay in the terminal you miss the flight. Best advice, forget duty free and drinks or food in the airport make for the gates straight away (flight was slightly delayed whilst bags of missing passengers were removed from the plane hold).
Love Tenerife

Got 5 nights on Brac in Croatia in 3 weeks, then Donegal for 3 days, quickly followed by a long weekend in Cologne and 4 days in Port Grimaud, before taking all the family to Turkey in July. Busy period coming up with work trips to Italy, Canada and Belfast!

Have sent the wife 3 options for a long weekend over her birthday in October. Reykjavík, Copenhagen or Tallin.

Reykavik would be doing the usual touristy activities. Copenhagen would involve a day trip to Malmo and Tallin could involve a ferry to Helsinki for a night or two and fly home from their.
3 great options and I'd recommend any of them. If pushed, I'd say Tallin/Helsinki is the best. Tallin is beautiful.

I am a complete Turkophile. Over the last 19 years we have visited most places on the South and West coast and many central places too. Other than the covid year when it was "red listed" by the govt haven't missed going since 2007 (that adds up to more than 6 months of my life there, in total) - but not this year ☹️, we have booked to go to Kerala, India - depending on what that Orange idiot in the USA does in the meantime.

Off to Japan in July on a two week cruise, visiting about 8 or 9 places inc Busan in South Korea. We wanted a slightly longer stay in Tokyo so we enquired and we go an extra 2 nights for a measly £50 for all three of us. What a result!
In last week of our visit to Japan, exceeded already quite lofty expectations for a trip that was a year in the planning. I read people get withdrawal after visiting and I could anticipate that even a few days into visiting - we will definitely return
