So I'm in Glasgow with work and staying up here for a few nights over the weekend. Been great so far, but it reminds of somewhere...

You might think I'm completely crackers but there's something about the city centre - its all grids, and one way systems and intersecting hills, and a combination of 19th and 20th century brick and modern glass, it weirdly reminds me of downtown San Francisco. Its also chock full of nutters which adds to the similarity.

Then I'm walking along Ingram St and got talking to an American couple l. She was SF born and raised and said she'd said the same thing to her husband.

Honestly @LinekersLegs - its just like that area round Sutter St, you'd feel right at home!

I always think Glasgow has a Liverpool feel?
Cracking city. Get yourself in both waxy O'connors and Aron Mor for a beer. Have an Innis and Gunn.

Oh yeah, definitely has a Liverpool feel but I was kind of expecting that, the San Francisco vibe not so much!

Cheers for the tips mate will check them out, currently in The Drum & Monkey on St Vincent St, magnificent pub.

Sadly it looks like Innis & Gunn has recently folded -

Having a look at holidays on the Easyjet site and having been looking at a particular hotel. Price is fluctuating each day but just now i checked and it was £3,400.

My wife who is sitting beside me went and checked on her phone and with the same details and its showing as £2,700. Scandalous.

My Mrs always books us holidays well in advance, she just messaged me this morning to say she’s booked us a week on Crete next June with easyJet … only £750 … £375 each including flights and transfers etc

Just got back from 5 days in NYC, amazing as always. Went to see Springsteen in MSG on Monday night then got the train to Asbury Park on the Tuesday

Off tomorrow on a tour of Albania. Looking forward to it as I do not know an awful lot about the place. Will be seeing a number of ancient sites as the country has been occupied by, amongst others, the Greeks, Romans & Ottomans. Having looked at a few restaurant menus online am expecting similarities with the Turkish food I enjoy each year. Hopefully the reports about independent breweries emerging is correct. :pint2:
