I’m optimistic for the season as a whole (so far). But I feel this game against these is a little too soon for us to notice any drastic changes from last season. Feel like we could’ve done with slightly weaker opposition whilst the new signings get up to speed for the first couple of matches.

not sure who he prefers in respect of Walcott / iwobi but I could see Walcott starting ahead of iwobi

Mate .. I’m in aus so watch Optus sports for coverage . They got the crap presenter that used to do bbc then Hesky and Sherwood as pundits . 20 minute preview of spurs, interview with Jose , I’m depth analysis of their 3 signings complete with clips etc and of corse they’re all good signings according to them. Then mentions our signings , no clips , sherwwod says James is basically crap and has been for 6 years AND THEN lol... starts talking about how we always spend money and every year people talk about us being top 4 and us never making it.... nothing wrong with that view I think we can all agree . He then goes on to say that for him “ Everton were the biggest underachievers last season” ok.. can see that point of view . Then says “ Carlo has won so many trophies in his career and that any other manger would have been sacked” “ I think the fact that he’s won so much is the reason he will be given a bit more time “ he’s literally been here for under half a season lol totally ignored the fact he’s signed no players until last week and the fact that the other season he has been talking about... we had Silva , Sam, Ronnie and bobby as manager . I couldn’t believe he was talking about how any other manger would have been sacked ... he’s a moron

I get why pundits put us down and to a point they are right. We are the biggest underachievers in the league by a long way
There 6 teams who never been relegated. 5 of them have been to CL finals, we never been in it Properly.
We havnt won at a top side in years and don’t even get started on winning a Darby.
Until we start going to the likes of Spurs and winning it won’t change.

Best not to expect much from this season - until a pacey wide player, Digne quality RB & fast CB come in then we are still slightly off teams like Arsenal/Spurs.

Would snatch your hands up at 1-1 and hopefully take all 3 points against WBA next weekend.

There’ll always be a limit to what we can do while we have short ass in goal but we should be knocking on the door of top 6-7 if the new boys stay fit

I’m not saying we are top 4 but they said Leicester and Spurs will be looking for top 4 and imo we are as good as them

...we’re a fair way off them based on last seasons form. We really need to show improvement rather than talk about being improved. I have no problem with their assessment at this point in time.

He was like that yesterday on SS. He’s been in the job 9 months.
Think one of the other said as well if it wasn’t Carlo he would of been sacked

Not expecting too much from this game in the broadest sense. Partly due to needing to bed in the newbies and also because Jose Pulis will probably set up to strangle the game.
