Top Four Possibility

True, but very deluded if our fanbase thinks the feat is achievable this season for the following reasons...

We have finished in the top 4 once in the Premier League era.

We have to play 4 out of the top 6 away from home where our record stands like this since the PL started: 3 wins in 24 at Spurs, 1 win in 24 at Arsenal, 2 wins in 24 at Liverpool, 2 wins in 24 at Man United.

6th place is a more realistic aim. Would be content with 7th this season though.

Quite often get draws at old Trafford and whl tbf, usually close games at least. Arsenal is a weird one, last day of the season when they may have nothing to play for by then, and well yeah the Derby...

Fair point but from 12 available, we would need at least 2 wins thrown in, and we all know we're just not capable of doing it.

The season we start getting wins against at least 2 of the 'Big 6' will most likely be when we next get in the top 4 as you have to be able to do that to be a top 4 contender. Barring our freak 4th placed finish in 04-05 of course!

Winning those kinds of games as well as the Semi Finals against good sides is what I am hoping to see as a bare minimum over the next few years now we have Moshiri. Not saying we need to be winning loads of trophies or getting top 4 every season but would love us to be able to grind out wins in games like Fiorentina at Home, Villarreal away, Dynamo Kiev away, Sporting Lisbon away, Man United and City in the Semi's last season. As it happens we've ended up not progressing in every single one of those big games and that needs to change.

Have we not beaten Arsenal and City this season? We have held our own against the top 6 except for that Chelsea disaster

it's possible, but not probable. Games like tonight and Saturday are absolute must wins. Every time someone above us draws or loses we have to win. We've already clawed back a fair few points on the above. if we win tonight I'm sure that's about 8 points clawed back on the RS and City.

easier said than done though winning these type of games tonight, very tough away game. Would love a win just to keep it interesting at the top and keep us at least within touching distance of being able to catch the mancs or the scruffs when we go and play either away

edit- we were 14 points behind 2nd place RS after 20 games. We are currently 10 and a win tonight gets it down to 7 points. 7 point swing in 4 matches. I was a bit out when I thought if we won tonight it would be 8 points back
