  • If you look at Evertons first stint, we played twice and finished -7 (7 league places worse off) than the previous season.
  • There appears to be a massive correlation between the more you play and the more league positions you drop.

I can't be arsed compiling the stats, but it would be vaguely interesting to see how the team that finished one spot below the Europa League place in the Premier League fared the year after. It might just be that some teams outperform a bit one season, finish somewhere between sixth and eighth and then fade away the following season, so the actual effect of playing in EL might not be as much as it first appears.

I dont get why we wouldnt go for the Europa league. You want your team to do as well as they can in every competition- otherwise whats the point?!

I hate this 4th place trophy rubbish- set out to win everything and if you cant take the next thing on offer and if you cant win that take the next.

our club havent wont anything in 22 years and you get people moaning about qualifying for an additional competition that would could win. I just dont get it.

Spot on.

Plus the trips abroad are what it's all about.

I think some people would rather type stuff on the internet about us than watch us.
Weirdos.

*logs off guiltily*

I still need to know why its much more difficult travelling on a Thursday evening to play a game 60 odd hours later than it is to travel on a Wednesday evening to play a game 60 odd hours later.

I can reconfigure my holiday/travel plans based on such info.
