Top Four Possibility

If the weekend's results go for us, it is still on.

Not that 4th is by any means what we should be expecting for a transition year.

It shows that we, even in a purple patch of sorts, cant make inroads against a team that is playing solid but unspectacularly and are drawing a lot. They are the lowest hanging fruit and we wont take them down.

Maybe not Dave, it's gonna come down to our home form until April now

Next 4 of 6 are at home, Bournemouth, Sunderland, West Brom and Hull

The two aways are Boro, Spurs.

Win all those home games which should be the aim, Nick a draw against spurs and Boro is an easier task than going stoke on a wet and windy Wednesday

Lot of those above us have games against each other during that spell, Euro footy and cup games for most as well. They will drop points over the next 6 key is if we can get results that we should do especially at home and avoid losing the always, pick up 12 at home and 2-4 away and we have a very outside shot.

I think you're wrong. We have been on a fairly decent run given what went before it. In that period we still haven't impacted on a gap to United.

I'd also say that other teams will begin to see the trend in Everton's performances as they sit up and take note that we are playing a lot differently to the way we have in previous seasons. They'll see that we have reverted back to the hard work of a Moyes team and they will begin to adapt to that. Hughes a few days ago mentioned this in his press conference and I think you saw it too the way they dominated us from the off.

We are far more than hard work. Get skillfull players in and it is impossible not to play joined up football and having Davis and Lookman as well as using Coleman and Baines as wing backs is making our football more joined up.

And in RK we have a manager who when our opponents do manage to adapt to us, will instantly (and usually successfully) change things, as he did last night with Holgate.

The Bournemouth's of this world at home are precisely the type we need to be very vigilant with. This league is anarchic. There's no game outside of Chelsea away that you'd be guaranteed to get nothing from; no team outside Sunderland at home you could almost guarantee a home win against.

It was his initial mistake to set up like that which dropped us in it.

We play with more intensity this season and rely on power rather than finesse. It'll pick up a lot of points; it's also a style that can be matched by most teams if they put their minds to it and nullified.

The test for this Koeman team will be when they develop this style and have it as their signature. Then they'll need to add another more creative dimension to it in order to keep the opposition guessing. We dont have that flexibility yet. The plan right now is to simply up the energy levels. We require a cult figure who can add some mercurial talent to the mix.
