Shocking. Honestly, I don't think Kenny, Davies and Calvert-Lewin are ready for first team football at this level but they've all actually been regular starters at different points this season. Says it all about our plight.
I think its the right approach in general, i think you need to look at young players a bit like a puppy farm, it can save you 10's of million if you get a good one, but if they dont make the grade they need to be fattened up on loan to make you money, raise there profile and sell them off. Chelsea have made an industry out of it. Its all lost its romance really of local lad doing good etc.
Davies is very young in my opinion, i think he has something unique i think he has struggled a bit in his second season but i think you have to make an allowance for that, he has already proven full tilt he can effect games at this level with lads 10 years his senior. Its been poor that the club have had to rely on him so much at this stage of devlopment and being in a team low on confidence. Remindsme of a young Robson and he will make it with loads of headroom for development.
Kenny i think is a good player, but unfortunate to be around at a time when you want so much more from full backs, hes ultimately limited in my opinion, could be good back up, hes a more stylish Hibbert, good defender and ok going forward but not exceptional.
DCL, is one of those players that has everything but end product, will ultimately be a Shane Long stretching teams or a Big Vic battering ram, i just dont see him breaking 15 goals in any PL season. pity because if he could finish he would be the brightest prospect in the league.
I think you need to consider young players carefully though and give a bit of scope up to 23-24. i think its dangerous to have just a generic send out on loan and sell them off approach its to open to error, for example look at Chelsea they could have a team containing KDB, Salah and Lukaku now.
