Surprised that some don't think he played well. His energy today arguably made the difference as it literally drives the team forward.

If anything it was him back to his best in my view.

Honestly mate, I don't get it.

Maybe it's better to have a seasoned shithouse of a player like Morgan ducking out of challenges, not looking to make a pass, not wanting the ball, rather than a kid like Davies who asks for it, drives forward with it, tackles, takes tackles, doesn't always come off but doesn't stop.

I'll say another thing, Gana trusts him more than any other midfielder because he just sits there more disciplined.

100%. His actual impact on the match is more than Morgan's had in any match since joining.

Long may it continue because honestly I'm done with shithouses and Davies is the opposite.

The above comments are about somebody who could stil be playing in our u23s for the next 3 years, when perhaps the £20m plus experienced superstars the board brought in haven't made half the effort or impact.
I don't think it's fair to be too critical at such a young age, he hasn't shirked the responsibility or asked to be thrown in, but ideally he'd still be learning his trade at a lower level.
Keep it up Tom lad!

Him and Rooney, always looking for the forward pass. Took an hour but what happens then? Gyfli grows a pair and starts taking the ball and turning with it and running forward.

Has Davies hit the heights of last season? Nope. Is he better than so called established players who have been given game time above him this season? 100% yes.

I can't fault his energy and willingness but I feel he still needs bringing along in the reserves, as do DCL, Holgate, Keane and Kenny ideally. They've had young careers sidetracked by the ghastly situation we've found ourselves in, which is largely down to bad management and poor performances by more experienced guys. I expect Sam to get in some muscle in January which will ease the pressure a bit on the young lads.
