These are UEFA rules and have no place in law, really if we wanted we could spend a billion this summer and challenge and fine/ban in courts and there would only be one winner.
Legally a body can't stop investment in a company trying to improve itself.
Blast the cash and bring them to court if they try and stop us.

Legally they can't. But entering the Premier League and European competition is not a right guaranteed in law. If you want to play in their competitions you have to abide by their rules.

I’m no expert on this and I’m not pretending to be, but is it not the case that UEFA rules have to be within the confines of the law?

The FA or UEFA couldn’t ignore the Bosman ruling for example, as it was found that it contravened employment law?

How this affects the FFP situation, I don’t know.

But I think we can say that UEFA rules can’t contravene legislation? So any rules that were found to contravene the law would become invalid?

You've nailed it. Their rules have been deemed invalid and so unenforceable.

But the Premier League only issue licenses to clubs who agree to abide by the FFP rules.

Good luck to the PL if they want to start punishing teams. It goes to a civil case and given the precedent in existence, they lose.

City will not be losing their license and neither will anyone else.

No they wont.

And nor will FFP be scrapped.

But hey, going round in circles isn't fun, so lets wait and see what happens.

The way we’ve been sneaking money into the club via USM through legitimate channels, training ground sponsor, exclusivity on naming rights for new stadium, I’d expect the powers-that-be would be looking for any excuse the throw the book at us if we broke FFP.

Nothing they can do about all them, we only have to show fair market value and thankfully we can use United as our benchmark.

oh aye, nothing they can do about them, but they’ll be seething over the exclusivity naming rights, so if we were to break FFP, they would love to drop the hammer on us.

What is the point of spending enormous sums of money just to be banned from competing in Europe?
The last time we were banned from European competition didn’t work out too well for us.
It's ok Everton do it differently, spend enormous amounts of money to be absolutely bobbins with THE worst midfield in Premier league history, and avoid Europe altogether. FFP isn't fair and never had been, despite our voting for it.
