Not sure about the punch, a lot of the time when a keeper punches the ball it isn't a wise choice to try and catch it, reaching over players for instance, that type of thing. When it could be easy to spill the ball in a far more dangerous area a punch is the better option, ok it might go into another zone that could be dangerous but you have to deal with the initial danger first.

He should of just caught it though
 

IMO there was no reason to be that far of his line with the opposition that close to goal with that be any defenders ahead of him in position, his positioning to cover the left was also flawed.
 

Sad seeing Spurs and Arsenal play with 2 top class goalkeepers. Howard is nowhere near the same level as Lloris and Cech. He's miles behind Butland, Forster (when fit) and Adrian for me aswell. Needs to be a massive priority next season. Let's hope Kenwright gives Martinez every penny of that new £50 million tv deal as we have a few positions that need strengthening if we are to get back up there.
