Tim Howard

Fair enough. The point I'm making is that people say we'd be X amount of points better based on every mistake he makes. There's no such thing as a keeper that won't make mistakes that "cost points" somewhere. Saying Howard made 5 mistakes, and that cost us 15 points is silly. Maybe those 5 mistakes cost us 6 points because Cech would only make 3 mistakes. Saying every mistake Howard makes costs us places in the table is assuming we'd have a perfect replacement who did everything positive Howard did and also made zero mistakes that Howard did or didn't.

He's average is what he is now, and he should be replaced. However, people need to stop thinking perfection exists when it so very clearly doesn't. Perhaps when you face more shots, you're going to make more mistakes. Law of averages and what not.

Coming out for crosses is that basic that we should be expecting "perfection" in that sense because it is such a basic goalkeeping skill.

Had an OK game still hesitant on leaving his line, punched 2 out of four ok, flapped a bit, his roll outs two caused danger, other than that OK ish - The defiance screamed Tim at one point for him to collect a regimental through ball - verdict a bit better than lately!

Actually he had little to do today. There was a dreadful two handed punch out - which he could have caught - but luckily it went to a white shirt.

He did not let us down today. Unusually. Not much more to say.

Good to see his improvement the last two games after I told him it would be beneficial to all concerned if he started acting like a goalkeeper.

Give him another 3 games and he will be on the verge of World Class territory.

he's a clown

The defenders certainly dont seem confident with him behind them.

Forget saying we lost X points as he let in daft goals...we would be more positive as our defenders would be more confident and have a high line.
