Tim Howard

Speaking as somebody who grew up watching the Big man in goal, no, hes never been good enough.

Hes has his moments and in terms of the quality keepers thats actually been in this league, hes not as bad as some.

Hes capable of amazing saves, but the lack of communication from him towards his defence has always been his biggest flaw, a keeper that doesnt control his box, isnt much of a keeper.

So unless our keeper is as good as Nev he's never going to be good enough? That's some standard.

Many viewed Tim as one of the best in the world in 2009 and 2010. Guess that's just not good enough.

Who viewed Tim as one if the best in the world 5 years ago? Pretty sure it wouldn't have been an Everton fan and if it was they were sniffing glue.

Not many keepers will come close to the standard of Southall but Nigel Martyn certainly gave it a good go and showed how good a keeper can be when they command there 6 yard box and communicate with their defence. You can count how many mistakes he made on 2 fingers.

Honestly, can someone find me posts where Howard was classed as world class 5 years ago so I can drop kick their cat as punishment for being deluded.

Good keeper 5 years ago, great buy for the cost as I've said loads of times but his times up and has been for 18 months sadly.

Just a few examples @Khalekan @Saint Domingo. It's been a theme with a contingent of this fan base since he arrived here.

Sorry,cheese........I tend to base my opinion on what I hear fellows at the actual match or on trains travelling to the ground or in the pubs I frequent before and after the game say rather than a few random posters quoted on an Internet message board have to say.

And even in those quotes you have selectively plucked out the ether there is not one hint of anti Americanism, anti Unitedism or anti slothism.

Just anti bad goalkeepingism.

And I am sure even you are not at all happy with Timmy's contribution this season so far.

But all during Tim Howard's time here he was been received well by the critical mass of fans.

Martyn wasnt as good as Nev, but he was good enough.

And thats some outstanding corn, best in the world!!! LOL, he wasnt even the best at Everton when the legend Jan Mucha was here.

No they didn't.
