Tim Howard

Nothing. My point is from another thread where I opined that there is a contingent of our fan base that never accepted Tim. Even when he was at the top of his game.

Thats true....probably because he is 'ex Man Utd.'......the same people are probably those who never gave Phil Neville the time of day. Neville went on too long, but for some time he was a good captain, and a willing player who always gave 100%, and his tackle on Ronaldo changed our mindset and our season in a few seconds. The same people probably are those that said Cleverley was crap even before he played a game for us. It is, of course alright to like Gibson despite the fact that he was injury prone before he arrived, and is now an injury prone drink driver. Tim Howard is/was a top Premier League keeper...his time is more done than to be done, although goalkeepers can stay fit enough and enough on the game to have long careers, and I expect there will be less game time for him at Everton from now on...Martinez has subtly told us that he is considering his goalkeepeer options, and there will be a gradual transition to Robles or a new keeper. Its the least Howard deserves.Moyes never dropped Howard, Martinez will do before CHristmas,is my guess.

Just a few examples @Khalekan @Saint Domingo. It's been a theme with a contingent of this fan base since he arrived here.

Well I don't believe in writing off players before they've even kicked a ball for Everton. I was made up with Tim until 2010, never crossed my mind to question whether he was a good keeper or not. The odd error started to creep in over the next few seasons but I genuinely thought it was just erratic form from the likes of Distin and Heitinga. It was only from 2011/12 onwards that I started to feel Howard was making lots more errors. They've increased since then in my view (although I thought he'd recovered a bit in 13/14) but now the situation seems to need action. I'll never say Tim was a bad keeper for us, he wasn't, he was top 5 in the prem easily in his peak, he's just past that now, no shame in people admitting that and us trying a new keeper.

Not sure how you came by that view point Steve, when he made it clear that TH is the no.1.

I don't disagree with any of that. I just wanted to show that there are some who never got behind this player for whatever reason.
