Tim Cahill

You FAIL to understand that teams win trophies. Cahill was easily good enough but we could never afford to have all the required elements at once.
I don’t FAIL to understand anything - stop looking through rose tinted glasses - he wouldn’t have got in either of the 1970 or 1985/87 teams.

You need a balance between people who know the club and its history; and people who are very good at their jobs but would drop you in a heartbeat for something better.

Cahill may not have won a trophy here but he absolutely had that winning mentality and didn’t bottle big games. I simply can’t understand why some blues always feel the need to talk him down whenever he is discussed. He’s one of the best we’ve had in 30 years and he absolutely loves Everton. What’s not to like?

The guy harping on about teams from 35 years ago talking about rose-tinted glasses? Lol. Posters in here are celebrating Cahill because he was a great player that we bought for a song who never gave less than his all. Get out of this thread if that annoys you, you utter joy vacuum

All that is lacking in Tim Cahills career here is a trophy, he himself was a winner, it wasn't for the lack of trying on his part,as has been said he was a lad who was always "up' for the games that mattered, sometimes he could influence those games on his own and sometimes not,all I know is if we had another one maybe two like him we wouldn't have been waiting since 1995 for a pot,I also reckon he could have left us for one of those trophy winning sides but he chose to remain here and gave us his very best years and to this day is an Evertonian, maybe not remembered as a legend, but a very, very good player, and even better when you consider the paltry sum we bought him for:)

Do not agree. I would pick him before Adrian Heath.
As good as Cahill was he wasn’t close to Heath.
Heath was one the best players I’ve ever seen. A true great.
If you doubt this take some time to glance back at the last time we were champions, amongst his goals you will see a clutch of brilliant headers every bit as impressive as Cahills , the more so given his size.
Heath was perfection.
Cahill was good.

Never missed a home game with either player I don't think. For me Cahill (by a whisker I admit)
