This season as a whole

I think its a disappointing season when you look and see we've only lost 5 games all season and 3 of them are seemingly winnable games (Norwich, WBA, Reading). You look at that and think we've had a strong season but theres been far too many '2 points dropped' games and theyve caught up to us. I feel if we'd been clinical and finished off some teams when they were there for the taking (Reading away, Fulham Away, Newcastle Home, Norwich Home etc.) we could have had a real exceptional season, but as it is it has to be seen as what it is; another typical Moyes era season. This one could have far bigger long term impacts though as you can only think the 5 teams above us (and the RS) will improve significantly more than we will.

I guess that raises the question that with Moyes the squad has gone through so many nearly moments, but what will the legacy of the last 10 years be? Cant see me telling my kids stories of the 6th place finishes

We have had good games, Utd, City, Villa, we have had heartbreak, Newcastle, Fulham, we have been destroyed, WBA, Wigan and we have done the unthinkable Spurs at Home.

Everton arent we.

Sure, like I said we needed a perfect season and for everyone else to struggle. One of those things happened, the other didn't.

Ah I get you, although I'm not sure that either happened to be honest, though they did all struggle against us :)
All in its been a good season and we are still in with a shout of 4th, especially since Chelsea and Spurs still have to play each other.
Wigan and Leeds kind a meant that it was never going to be a great season unless the league bought us CL next season.

Once again I fail to see why you are all so disappointed with this season. Look at our position in the league. We're in with a shout of Champions League, why give up on that so soon? It's unlikely yes, but if the players and staff had the same attitude as most of you lot on here we'd be ****ed.

The season's had its moments but we've been here before. Moyes has again put good foundations in place that aren't going to be built on, and the club won't be sold.

It's a shame the team threw away so many points in games they dominated, and of course the Wigan debacle has left a sour taste. I just hope they keep pushing right to the end.

I think regardless of the spending of other teams, we could have finished 4th this season. Still absolutely gutted about yesterday; really was a hard one to take

With the start we made to the season, I considered us a favourite to finish in the top 4. Our inability to finish off games leading to a lot of draws killed that a bit, mainly due to a lot of bad refereeing decisions, lucky defelected goals against us, and a lot of glaring misses caused us to drop a lot of points. More recently we have dropped a few points because we have tried to hold on to a one goal lead, but given the amount of games we have pushed for a second goal, failed to get it and got hit with a counter attack, I can understand the reasoning for that (I don't agree with it, but I do understand it)
I also think not strengthening in January killed confidence a bit, everyone new we needed additions, but when none are coming in the players must be wondering what is going on.

I don't think we are going to get top 4 now, but we have a good chance of 5th. 6th would be a bit of a disappointment and 7th would be total failure

The difference this year is that the European places don't go as far down as usual. We are likely to have our biggest points haul in the PL. if 6th had been a European place I think we would view it differently.

But WIGAN FFS.

I think we've improved most definitely from last season. Our style is a lot more attractive and gets us points while entertaining the fans. I consider improvement as one success on a long list of objectives (ie getting a trophy, europe, etc.). Right now we've got the style, we've got a solid core of players, we just need to improve the mentality. We need to be ruthless. Overall I've enjoyed this season immensely. The future looks bright, bring on the summer.

I'm not arsed about the Wigan game anymore, more interested in final league placing.
If he gets 5th, it will be astonishing
