Transfer Rumour Thierno Barry

Can we sign both of em ? New forward line, need goals goals and more goals

That would be a statement, as Woltemade a similar physique but different kind of player. I think more teams will be in for Woltemade if available, he is a full senior international dropping back into the U21s whilst Barry is on the bench for his national U21 team - that is a big difference.

If it did happen, we would probably need a lot of free transfers all over the pitch though and we desperately need to strengthen with quality and buy starting players in one or two other areas of the pitch.

If we waited another 12 months and he developed even a little bit we d have no chance. Likes of Chelsea would just hoover him up. We will unfortunately need to take a few gambles like this and bring in alongside them some more experienced players that can do a job. That’s the markets we re operating in at the moment

Unfortunately, they can also afford to bench him or loan him out - we would need near instant impact from him for the fee being mentioned.

Why would Chelsea get the Temu version of Nicolas Jackson when they already have and want to get rid of Nicolas Jackson?

He scored near 20 goals in la liga last season.

You can't seriously compare him to chermiti?
He scored 11 in 35. Nowhere near 20. In a team that finished top 6. There was an attacker who scored 9 in 31 in a team that got relegated in La Liga. Might be a cheaper option. His name - Sandro Ramirez

This is it, even though the likes of Moise Kean, Lookman and Vlasic didn't work out for us, we still at least made our money back on them. But for a horrific injury, which can happen to anyone, there is very little downside to a signing like this.

Scored goals everywhere.

I think him and Beto fighting for a place can only be a good thing.

Exciting to see what happens with this.
Everton doesn't play enough matches to have two good strikers fighting for a place. If they both stay fit one of them will end up as clear first choice while the other one will have a poor season.

It's like when we had DCL and Kean. Both of them could not possibly have a good season.

My concern is that while there always would be interest for Kean and a possibility to get our money back, a Barry on Premier League salary that doesn't play will be almost impossible to offload. If Beto becomes first choice and Barry his backup, we'd struggle to get £10 million for Barry next summer. It's a signing that easily can end up worse than the Klaassen signing if we don't play him.

Dont agree is times when the first choice will have a dip in form then is up to the other cf to come in and given a chance. I think will see a different everton because this window will be mainly about the attackers. So will be more chances created than what we have seen, with barry looks to have good movement and looks to get on the end of things.

It's true that France has a lot options, but they also have their best strikers injured, playing Club World Cup or turning down a place in the squad to focus on important matches with their clubs. Barry hasn't been a part of this group and would be nowhere near the squad if they had their best players available.

Also worth keeping in mind that we once signed Sandro Ramirez during U21 Euros when he was undisputed first choice striker for finalist Spain. We signed him at the back of a much more impressing La Liga season than Barry had for Villareal.

Sandro stil plays. He scored 9 goals for 19th placed Las Palmas last season. More impressing than Barry's 11 goals for 5th placed Villareal.

….but this regime will be accountable for their dealings. We can quote good and bad historic transfers but ultimately none of us know, every one carries risk and only time will tell if we acquire this bloke.

Let’s hope the watchers have watched, the stats people have done their bit and others have done their background checks.
