Did he do it because
a. He is a nazi and couldn't help himself
b. To make it the main talking point of the day and distract from the executive orders
c. A stealth move to normalise extremism
d. Just an unfortunate incident

I would actually say it is mainly B & C, as you said, but would throw a little bit of A in the mix. I don't think he is a Nazi as we knew them and would define them, but there is a bit of fascism in him. My opinion is that it is more attributed to his own personal greed, rather than an ideology. He is just an unbelievably immoral person rather than a Nazi.
Apparently if you deny he did a nazi salute then your opinion is as valid as someone who says he did.

I don't believe people pay too much attention to groups like that to consider it. Sure it's talked about and mentioned online but if you weren't reading about the names of these groups, unless you were directly affected by them then would you know they exist? Same as Tommy Robinson here, I'd have never known who he was if the media and internet talk about him.
