As much as some may disagree, I would love to see us try and get Arshavin, don't think he fit at Arsenal, but he's a good tactical player who has just come off the back of an excellent euros and I think he would still be a player that take us to the next level.

So it turns out Agent49 on Twitter was an 18 year old lad having a laugh. Got to give it to him racking up that many followers including some respected sports journo's who printed stories based on his tweets.

Anyway, Holtby played and scored in Schalke's last bundesliga game a couple of days ago so I reckon we could probably put this one to bed once and for all.

I would've loved us to sign him pre Euro 08 we were quite heavily linked with him if i remember correctly. I remember him playing at goodison for zenit in the uefa cup (07/08???) and he was brilliant.

I don't think that means anything. Holtby is entering the last year of contract so venerable to a bid as opposed to them actively wanting him sold and therefore benching/not playing him
