A Man Utd supporter in work this evening showed us a story on one of their fan websites saying that they have agreed a fee and will announce their first major January signing in the next couple of days. It included a picture of Everton celebrating a goal last season. Is someone on the way out?

Apparantly he can lay the law down on the footy stuff. I'm wondering though whether he's political enough to survive at a club like this.

It's just my opinion, but (unlike Moyes who pressed too soon at United with the old guard) Martinez had got into an exceptionally powerful position this summer that he squandered. He had the fanbase 100% behind him and could have done anything he wanted on the playing side. The players too knew he'd done the business and would have got into line.

If it'd have been me I'd have been like friggin Nero! No **** opposing me would have survived.
How do you know anyone is opposing him?

Its cheaper and easier to sack the manger then sack the bad apples, looked like he trusted some wrongs UN's in the management team, it will be a few senior players and a few from the management team. What do we know about Martinez number 2?, is he the bad guy out of the two,

Yeah good point about the number 2.
One thing is certain the fitness coach is a lazy .........

Even though we're all questioning Martinez for the players he picks and the positions they play in, surely as a professional they'll work hard enough to do something worthwhile in that position? They complain when their not getting games and when they do in a position they want they don't bother?

The squad needs to get together with Martinez and sort stuff out otherwise we're not going to attract or keep players :-( this is where Kenwright comes into play as He is Everton apparently, so he should get all the players and staff in a room and sort things one way or the other :-) If Distin been stirring it, get rid in january and at least it shows martinez has balls :-) At the moment his not taking risks and letting the pressure build on the team! He said we're playing well but when we click we'll be great and win? He should drop those who are'nt preforming, attack the referee decisions in the media and if his not up to do it get Ferguson to do it :-) Imagine Duncan on sky telling them the refs are bent and arranging matches with decisions? :-)

Are you an Everton supporter mate? If so and your colleague shown you the picture, I think the dead giveaway of Coleman number 23 slap bang in the middle of that pic might have been a clue, along with paper talk over the weekend saying Utd were interested.

The tactics are different from last season that's what people are trying to say. Tactics don't start and end with either long ball or passing game. How many times did barkley play on the left last season? Baines in cm? Not to mention we'v almost given up going down the wings!

My issue with this is injuries really have forced him to put those on the left or right side of midfield.

How many times have we had to nurse Kev or Pienaar back to fitness ? How many times have they been available?

And on Baines everyone creamed themselves silly on here when comparisons with Lahm were made and many agreed with it. He has done ok too in the two games.

Having a conversation with some of the in-laws family (blues) last night and the consensus is that we don't look like we're working hard enough. All the talk is about philosophy and style but all season long every player has been struggling to win his own battle with the opposition player he marks or is marked by. We are not working hard enough to win matches and it's been obvious for a while now that if opposition teams match or better our work rate, we struggle to beat them
