It depends on how success is measured. If the total number of medals won is the metric used, the United States is the most successful by far with a total of 2,299 medals since 1896. This is certainly an accomplishment of which the US and its athletes should be proud. However, it does not exactly seem right to praise the U.S. for winning more medals than a country like Norway that’s 60 times smaller. The U.S. is relatively large, so a fairer comparison might examine the total medals won per capita. The following graphic reports the top 10 recipients on a per capita basis, as well as the bottom 10 recipients and compare them to the United States.

FINNS RULEZ THE OLYMPICS FFS
b)
olympics are well **** today, there better be boxing on tonight?
why dont they make the 100 metres the last event of all, its the main spectacle, it shouldn't be before these weird marathons or whatever is left
Next two fights are women's QF'S(medal fights) first Nicola Adams who should win then Natasha Jonas the scouser fighting probably one of he top female fighters in the workd an Irish girl.
Come on Katie!
Shes awesome!
To be fair she really is , it's so tough for Natasha that she's got her in the quarters but boxing can sometimes go against expectations but unfortunately she's perhaps the weakest female boxer and has the toughest fight
You never know on the day mate, but Katies a star.
I think we're going to tear up the boxing, chance of three good medals for us!

Great find that Finnfan. Check out the medals per capita figures compared to national GDP. Very interesting. Possibly only really New Zealand punching its weight in terms of the advanced economies are concerned - looking at the London 2012 Games.
How did you graph those figures above?
Nicola Adams looking well within herself here and pretty comfortable for me.
I think nevin will find it tough against the Cuban, really tough
