Nothing mate, but watch it change is 6 months time and you go in to pubs and people say stuff like "this country is goin to the dogs" where will the pride be then?
Im not arguing and sadly people will be fickle, but they will still be talking about this in 100 years. I'm not some lunatic fiercely proud of being British but 2012 so far we have had a magnificent year, a focal point internationally for the right reasons.

I'd also like to add that the buzzword for this Olympics has been about legacy and if it has half the impact it should have, hundreds of thousands of children will be in sports clubs after it. So 6 months down the line hopefully it will be inspiring young adults of whatever background to better themselves. Slightly idealistic I appreciate, but it should have a positive influence.

bunch of whoppers all influenced by whatever the popular headlines are at the time lid

What are the headlines now mate?

Listen Im loving these Games, I'm not patriotic at all, and that won't change because some sport has been played for two weeks, but did I go a bit when Farrah in particular won, yes, defo, because I can relate to him as in I wanted him to win, I support the GB team because they're lids who I like and want to win.

I think Federer, Phelps and the like and amazing sportsmen and as happy for them winning Gold as I am any of the GB lot.

I like the way these Games have stuck two fingers up to the likes of the BNP, Aidan Burley, EDL and the Daily Mail, thats why I want GB to 'snot' golds

sounds promising for the women then, yeah with Ogogo, I never would have had him down for a medal, he really has suprised me, Taylor however was always gonna be in a dividion too tough for him, I didnt think he'd beat the Brazilian even. Like you say about home advantage, the close calls have gone our way, Joshua and Ogogo benefitting, not robberies like, but close calls. I also think that Campbell, Joshua, Stalker and Selby will fight better in the quarters than they did in their opening bouts, as you very rightly predicted, all the lads who had byes were a little but out with either sharpness or timing.

Trouble is mate more than probably any other mainstream sport boxing can be so unpredictable but if we get 4 or 5 medals of any colour that's a hell of a lot to be proud of. I think now everyone is only one fight from a medal arent they ? That'd be 9 fighters and Selby, Stalker , Joshua and Campbell look strong enough to at least go close in the men's

There were quite a few folks out on their bikes this morning. Didn't see many youngsters and I'm sure chaps of a certain girth should be forbidden from wearing lycra, but overall good to see.

To be honest though, with the cycling at least, this has been building for a while now. On the commute to work there are loads of cyclists now. The Olympics certainly won't do any harm but it's been happening before the Olympics and will hopefully carry on after it such is the success of our riders in Europe.

(in reality I'm probably even more confident but the Evertonian in me frightened of it going wrong and GB falling flat on our face)

I said earlier mate I've certainly got pride in our squad , in it's diversity of both race & class but also for the adversity many (whatever their class) have overcome, like you I think that's great.
