Those scousers got what they deserved under Thatcher didn't they Pete?

Well I was a scouser under Thatcher and I applauded what she did for the country...meanwhile she is dead and buried yet somehow you wish to raise her up again...were you actually around at the time......

Jesus Pete .... I know we banter back and forth but that is a very low post in my opinion ... how you could applaud the total decimation of towns and communities across the country without a second thought. I thought better of you.

Indeed, for all the whinging and moaning and crying about prorogation, what have to MP’s actually done...sod all tbh......a complete waste of space, time and money......

They're actually trying to get a bill through to protect the victims of domestic abuse. So yeah a complete waste of time and money...

She turned the country around. We were going down the tubes. The Unions were running riot and the Argentinians were taking the piss. Our standing in the world had never been lower and we were having bread brought up by mates from the midlands. It was terrible tbh. Thatcher reversed it, few on here will ever admit it but she did. My mother, who never had two beans voted Labour all her life, she lived through the war years, but even she decided that enough was enough, and voted for Thatcher, she never regretted it........

The below.

I voted Conservative for the first time in my life.

I didn't vote for May; I voted against Corbyn.

I sincerely hope Labour give me something to vote for next time, as that is my default political leaning. But I'm not going to vote for something that crosses so many personal red lines just because I'm a Scouser and "I'm supposed to".

Also, my vote didn't matter - I live in Knowsley.

I won't be voting Tory this time round for the same reasons - I'll be voting against Johnson AND Corbyn.

Not that my vote matters as I'm in a safe Conservative seat, but last time although I strategically voted Lib dems, I would have rather May's government got power than Corbyn's with the help of the SNP. Now I'd rather a Labour/SNP ticket wins rather than Johnson's Tory party. Just goes to show you how quickly the landscape changes.

1 She turned the country around.

2 We were going down the tubes.

3 The Unions were running riot and the Argentinians were taking the piss.

4 Our standing in the world had never been lower and we were having bread brought up by mates from the midlands. It was terrible tbh.

5 Thatcher reversed it, few on here will ever admit it but she did.

1 You ARE joking! She divided the country like never before!

2 Because the Captains of Industry were hell-bent on malleting the workers of the country.

3 The Captains of Industry were running riot in a total megalomanical way. The Unions were the bulwark against the ordinary people being totally crippled. Do you remember the 'Order in Council' under her watch that took away Trade Union membership from workers at GCHQ because of the threat to national security, when the biggest threat to national security over the many decades had come from the 'OXbridge' university set!

4 Give me the detailed information about our standing at the time, instead of a glib Tory remark.

5 Thatcher reversed nothing. Remember 3 million unemployed? 15% mortgage rate? I do, bringing up a young family under her tenure.

Thatcher was the worst thing that ever happened to this country. The best thing that happened for her was Galtieri attacking the Falklands. At the time, her standing was rock bottom. The act of re-taking the Falklands rescued her reputation.

Keep waving you little Tory flag...

You can have all the legislative power in land thrown at domestic abuse, the fact remains and thanks to Conservative and Liberal Democrat Governments, have cut the services and in some instances local authorities have disbanded many projects due to severe money shortages that aided in successfully implement tackling domestic abuse.
Its similar with homelessness almost eradicated under the last Labour Government, now rising and the highest number of homeless people have died on our streets, 726, probably in the thousands when you apply a reasonable definition what constitutes dying homeless.

Can't really argue with that. Still, I wouldn't go as far to say that MPs doing their jobs is a waste of money. You can have all the resources in the world but if the legislation isnt there you won't get anywhere.
