Well I thought he gave a really good speech. Looking at the faces, there was no miserable Hammond or grumpy Gauke, everyone seemed very happy. You lot would have been made up if Corbyn could do half as well......

...and the political commentators afterwards were very critical of him.

The converted don’t care, they’ll follow him over a cliff. He says people just want Brexit done, yet he repeatedly voted against the May deal. Virtually everything he says is superficial but it really doesn’t matter to his hordes. Labour have a big challenge on their hands.

I’m not sure it’s even a case of individual policies, new hospitals, more police etc etc, it was a sensible bigger picture for me. Get crime down, get connectivity including transport up, develop the country outside of London, develop the jobs and build the houses on brownfield sites. It’s a simple concept but it will actually work if followed through...but all done through an approach to grow business and trade, no mention of any tax rises. It was positive, energetic and forward looking. Corbyn and McDonnell by comparison look like archaic remnants from a bad time gone by......

....presume you haven’t read what he says about Liverpool. There are at least a number of Liverpool Labour MPs. There is no doubt in my mind that politics is Westminster centric, I actually feel Brussels has more interest in Liverpool than the Tory’s.
