No mate, Labour and James Callaghan …..
Sorry but Edward Heath was prime minister from 1970 to 1974.
His government took the UK into the common market and ruled over a period of industrial unrest which included the 3 day week and the first miner's strike.

Indeed…but James Callaghan was the PM for the ‘winter of discontent’….look it up…

Agreed.
I was confusing it with 1973 which also was a miserable time.
BTW, Callaghan was a follower of the then new Hayek and Friedman economic philosophy of the free market.
Basis of the Thatcher revolution.
He was not a socialist.
