Although it's interesting that in the past year the country seems to have found space to accept around 200,000 refugees from Ukraine and Hong Kong. We can all be grateful that they're not Muslims I suppose.

Sorry but Edward Heath was prime minister from 1970 to 1974.
His government took the UK into the common market and ruled over a period of industrial unrest which included the 3 day week and the first miner's strike.

Heath was replaced by a Wilson comeback 74 to 76 then Callaghan from 76 to 79.
Next was Thatcher of course. ?

I was confusing it with 1973 which also was a miserable time.
BTW, Callaghan was a follower of the then new Hayek and Friedman economic philosophy of the free market.
Basis of the Thatcher revolution.
He was not a socialist.
