Theyre all hell bent on the quick fix and corners cut. "Why put in place projects thatll take a decade or more to pay off? I require the gold and the glory now."

I wouldnt read anything into what either of them say to the Tory membership. They are the ultimate red meat brigade, and hold the sway into who gets to be PM. Once that is decided, whoever wins will need to work to appease the wider electorate, and the Tory MPs. Not the elderly, white, southern based, membership.

We see, hear, and read this stuff though. They may not be talking directly to us, but we're certainly hearing it.

Yeah, I know we are hearing it, but a 4% tax cut, and getting rid of solar power are just the latest examples of what the catnip to the membership is. Once they are seduced by the waffle, whoever wins moves onto a far more important electorate.

….I imagine even many Conservative voters will think this Government has run its course, wherever you look the country is an absolute mess.

In the interest of balanced democracy, change is required.

There have always been decent politicians in party’s you oppose but I have never seen politics at such a low ebb than with these Conservatives. It’s a concern, a route to extremism.

The country is not in an absolute mess and is doing as well as if not better than many. Even these strikes are having no effect and business etc is recovering having been through Brexit, COVID and the current effects from Ukraine….

True, but the wider electorare needs to look into this window of tories appealing to other tories. This is who they truly are.

It's quite sad really. They've been given a prolonged party political broadcast to the nation and rather than using that to actually speak with the nation have instead used it to throw red meat to a tiny proportion of the electorate. Utter tosspots.

There's nothing to stop them from doing this for MP's. Any additional expense they incur from being in London for parliamentary business etc. they claim back on expenses anyway. Rees Mogg was in favour before the U-turn and I would love to see him and the rest of them take a pay cut as part of levelling up.
agreed

Why, if Brexit was such a good idea, is it the one avoidable thing that the country is recovering from?

Its bewildering. And seeing these 2 as the "solution" is even more so.

To me, thats a mess.

….child poverty at an all time high is shameful; NHS waiting lists, people waiting years for standard operations, cancers undetected & untreated; waiting hours for ambulances; airport & transport in general chaos; basic education standards dropping, teachers having to pay out of their own pockets for materials; crime on the increase, third rate police forces, courts in disarray; the economy in reverse, lending at record levels, inflation rising; cost of living about to rise to record levels, families deciding whether to eat or heat whilst energy companies reveal mammoth profits for shareholders, food bank growth; public service offering dreadful & likely to get worst to fund tax cuts.

Britain after 12 years of the Conservatives, child poverty and food bank growth. Partying whilst public adhered to COVID rules, lying and manoevering. No values, no decency just an obsession with staying in power. Disgraceful.

Strange how the global crash was Labours fault, but this mess is down to external factors.

It's the biggest mess I can remember in my life time

Same. Need to get a log burner, and the one I want isnt in stock till Sept. (No issue with that personally). Asked the bloke is that due to China/War, and he said No. Produced in Bradford or somewhere up there, but some parts need to come from the EU. And they cannot guarantee delivery times atm.

Now, sure, thats a miniscule and unimportant issue, (a burner), but its certainly not unique.

Food banks are basically a British institution now. Will take a monumental effort to get rid of them. That is a part of this Tory legacy. Rich people getting filthy rich whilst many not so well off people pick up the pieces.

Either an out-and-out windup merchant or an absolute cretin.

I’m was never even anti-tory until recently… I acknowledge that they inherited a mess from Labour, I think Corbyn is a whopper and feel like the Labour party currently has nothing to hang anything on other than “we’re not the Conservatives” but to suggest that they’ve done a good job for is absolutely embarrassing.

The lockdown breaches (and subsequent lies) for me are possibly the biggest show of contempt for your average voter that I think I’ve ever seen.

Pigs.
