We need to go for this to try and gain a little momentum for the weekend. And we need a trophy. However I do hate this competition as if you get to the semi finals it's two extra games in January which make an already packed schedule even more jammed; a bitter pill to swallow if you don't reach the final. Nonetheless we can't afford to be losing any more games/putting in turgid performances right now.

I like the League Cup better than the FA Cup. It's accepted that teams field reserves and youngsters in the early rounds.

When they do the same in the FA Cup it just chips away at the prestige of a tournament that used to be the highlight of the season.
