Get some cash for it... Won't be long before people realise they are not actually banned just companies making commercial decisions. You mean protests and getting enough signatures for an issue to be raised in parliament? I dont see how destruction of statues without going through the proper channels is democratic at all mate. I'm sorry but I disagree with you. I believe a member of got brought up the fact that in Bristol they had a vote if the statue should go and apparently 55% said no it should stay. I dont take any offence to anything you've said mate but I think your idea of democratic and mine don't seem to be in line. Is it regional warlords is more what you have in mind?

I remember watching the black and white minstrel show as a child round at my nan's. I dont remember it being viewed as racist, I think people just found it amusing cos some singers had been bothered to black up and shake their hands around.

Go back a few more generations and having black slaves wasn't viewed as racist. People just found it amusing that they didn't have to pay them.

I think there is a huge difference between use of a racial epithet and the kind of black face , sketches like minstrels and various others ones from little Britain . Looking back it doesn’t translate well and it really wasn’t long ago .

I’m more surprised and I suppose less comfortable with papa lazarou from league of gentlemen going even though it was actual blackface as that felt completely different but that might be because I liked it and ultimately perhaps it’s not my debate .

If a TV show is racist why would you be arsed about it being took off a streaming service? It's not a personal attack on white people. If you can't see how David Walliams acting the fool while made up as an obese black woman might offend then you should read a little about the historical context of blackface performers and how those caricatures reinforced racial stereotypes and how they have had very real detrimental effects on black people's lives.

Using Chris Rock is rather ironic given that he has a very famous routine which directly addresses the issue that you bring up. But of course actually listening and reading about the why's of the issue is much harder than repeating the same tired old questions.

The Wire is a drama based upon real life with fully fleshed out characters being played by actors who aren't blacking up. To equate that with Little Britain being pulled from iPlayer is ridiculous and completely ignorant of the arguments that are being made against blackface.
