Its clear to me that things are now being deliberately stirred up to get people to turn on the movement.
TV shows being banned and taken off streaming services all over the place, for being racist is this actually want? Are Chris Rock stand up shows going to be pulled? He uses a certain racial slur every 30 seconds in his routine, movies use the same slur all the time, TV shows like the wire used it.. or is it OK for black people to say it but not white people? One group of people of a certain skin color are allowed to do or say something that another group are not allowed to do or say, would that not be part of the definition of racism? Oh Yea and whatever happens don't mention the war... https://www.thejournal.ie/fawlty-towers-uktv-5120911-Jun2020/

oh god
Is it seriously that different to understand the difference between a slur or not?
if unchallenged we will be at “it’s racist for me not to be allowed to black up” by 10 am
I mean, I can’t tell whether it is ignorance, deliberately obtuse or just a complete lack of understanding.you’d be better off returning to aniconism and Islam than continuing down this road of “if I can’t use the N word then that’s racism”

Forgive him lads, he's from Tipperary
It has been self-inflicted. They opened the door to have the movement corrupted by doing stupid things.
If you are white you cannot use that word.
If black people decide to use it and take ownership of it, then all power to them.
Leave them to it. You cannot own everything. You cannot use everything. It is theirs.
That isn't racism.
What is racist is the system of exploitation and oppression that this country benefitted from.
You’re beloved army would take a terrible kicking .... wannabe thugs in GI Joe outfitsTbf thats like saying an officer can never arrest someone again after someone dies in police custody.
This is unprecedented times- thousands dying of a killer virus, a bumbling PM, police kneeling whilst colleagues are getting assaulted, thousands ignoring social distancing and hundreds of authoritarians destroying property up and down the country all whilst talk of clashes between BLM & far right this weekend.
If ever there was a case for the army being put on the streets now is that time.
Ahh I don't know about that. Again, it's about context.
You're basically saying no white person ever can use that word - but how about Blazing Saddles? Where it's done to send up the racism in the old west? Or how about Dambusters, where it's the name of Guy Wilson's dog? Or how about any historical set-piece work where the word was simply used and to not use it would be inaccurate?
I'm not using that word now because of obvious reasons, but technically - as this is commentary I'm doing - I should be able to use the word at will to support any thesis or argument.
I actually think the reclamation of words is a good thing, but not if the purpose is to segregate the actual word and censor others from using it. An example is the word 'Yid' for Spurs - they've took a negative, reclaimed the language and used it as a positive identifier. I think there's a big benefit to promoting that word has changed and encouraging it as a positive label for Spurs fans rather than a negative for others.
You take 1 tiny part of my post and quote it, giving absolutely no context as to why it was said in the first place. Maybe it didn't cross your tiny mind that my point is that nobody should say the word, black or white, I have a 4 year old son and he's likely not going to hear that word until he hears it from a black person be it in a movie or a stand up routine or a rapper. If it's such an offensive word to black people then maybe they should demand it be removed from black popular culture where it's used alot and if someone didn't know any better and given the manner in which it's used alot of the time they could be forgiven for thinking that it's a term of endearment.Yes mate, now you have it. Is it a word you desperately want to use or something?
