The Attlee Government (1945-1951) could be seen as the 'high water mark' of democratic socialist ambition.

Sadly, we were bankrupt after helping to defeat Fascism in World War 2.

Amazing that they were able to achieve so much.

Besides Clem, some big hitters like Morrison, Bevin, and Dalton.

I don't need to mate. It's possible to have a good standard of living in the future too, but it doesn't have to be based upon some vague memories of a past that may well be true, but could also be due to other considerations besides a particular political party leader.
