I disagree with the whole notion of established religion, and despair that it has ruined and is ruining countless millions of lives but to criticize Starmer for going to visit one on the basis that a segment of its belief was described as homophobic in the Independent a few years back seems mad to me.

You could make exactly the same criticism of the vast majority of evangelical churches in this country, and probably most other religious establishments (and that is just on homophobic grounds, never mind all the sundry crap they've got up to even in just the past hundred years).
