I would say in general in the UK most only refer to those of the far left based on economics and those on the far right based on issues of nationalism/immigration yet for me its more far reaching than that - just different elements.

You never hear someone branded far right in the UK because they are anti NHS /welfare state and ultra capitalist likewise you tend not to see people who are very liberal minded branded far left only those who are economic socialists/communists.

Rees-Mogg and that group which I have forgotten the name of.

Sorry, but don't understand your 2nd para, could you please explain. Dominic Raab is anti welfare state/NHS/ultra capitalist as are a good proportion of the tory party...wouldn't say that's rare. What is an "economic socialist/communist?'

So long as their is a welfare state in Britain then you can not accuse the Tory party as a whole as being "Far Right".

"Right Wing" yes but look at the fiscal package in light of the Covid pandemic - not the actions of a party that see absolutely no benefit in having a welfare system in place.

Now for individual Tory party members - I have no doubt in my mind that some would fall under the far right bracket and would scrap benefits all together if they had their grubby little way.

Thats quite a rap sheet.

Care to elaborate?

I haven't checked the validity of the site as I have been peeling beetroot lol

Had a peek at that, but to be honest, it doesnt show he is anti NHS, Welfare State, or an Ultra Capitalist.

Aint no cheer leader, but your accusation interested me. Seems little more than the predictable stuff from all sides in this thread.

Wiki says he is the son of immigrants whose Mum worked at Marks and Sparks. Hardly a gilded start in life.

It wasn't me who accused him but there were plenty of anti welfare votes there on a quick glance.

I am pretty apolitical. They all piss me off mainly. But imo, voting against some change (always whipped anyrate) to some change to this or that on welfare or NHS doesnt equate to being "anti" either.

Ergo, the accusation looks a bit daft, and undermines legit criticism of any MP.

For the record, we are waiting, (9 weeks and counting) for Mrs R to be assessed for a PIP, and by extension, my carers allowance. Partly our fault; we didnt want to claim and then unclaim if that makes sense.

Mate, with respect, that is a million miles off "selling the NHS". Its that sort of spin that just dilutes proper debate.

Next week, I will pick up 6 meds from a chemist for Mrs R. All provided by businesses making a profit from supplying the NHS. As does the chemist.

Its just nonsense.
Define "selling the NHS" as you see it. Hope that you get Mrs R's meds free, due to her condition (Hope she is continuing her recovery btw ;);))

Ok mate, that's your view.

Mine is that ALL tory governments detest the welfare state (they voted against it in the first place back in the 40s) This administration is easily the most "far right" in my lifetime (and I lived through thatcher's regime)
