Cambridge Analytica and the rise of Trump and Brexit suggests otherwise?

And there’s a massive difference between that and people like Owen Jones crying about media bias.

One is a criminal act, ruining the integrity of democracy allowing another state to manipulate people through social media.

The other is a bunch of liberals with too much to say.

Ridiculous to compare the two unless somebody can point us towards the left being involved with Cambridge analytica and the likes?

Twitter is well known to be a left leaning echo chamber. It's not a conspiracy theory.

Also, they are as bad as eachother. They both partake in extremist ideological propaganda and are exceptionally intolerant of other views.

Only because you broadly agree with one type of misinformation, so you don't see it as harmful as the other. It shows inherent bias and a lack of awareness in regards to the principle of cause and effect.

Whereas I couldn't give a toss whether I agree with something or not; if something is extremist or inaccurate then it is extremist and inaccurate, regardless of politics.

You see, from my view, the "woke" extremism of the left has caused massive, lasting damage by hardening the views of others - it acts as an enabler of further opposite extremism and the over-reaction, perpetually outraged and "cancel culture" means that genuinely disgusting things get swallowed up by the noise and ignored. So you have support for the Tommy Robinsons of this world harden simply because he isn't one of the safe space snowflakes.

I think if you get to the stage where your whole political outlook is either left or right, and you are near incapable of seeing the opposition view with any credibility then you're too far gone ie. You're far left or right.

I understand there are exceptions to the rule - the BNP type racists who can be left on economics but they are quite rare.

Ultimately I know a lot of moderate left wing folk in life who whilst maybe leaning to social liberal ideas and economic socialism they also can see the negatives of both and also shock horror the positives of certain "right" beliefs / systems such as capitalism, tougher prison sentencing heck even God forbid the death penalty or curbs on immigration numbers.

But when the likes of dead soft - who speaks about the ills of capitalism, the white man being inherently evil and how anyone who believes in tougher sentencing is a Tommy Robinson fanboy claims he isnt far left just because he isnt a full on communist/hard line socialist is hilarious.

It’s pretty dismissive to tell people it’s just because they agree with something they don’t see it as bad. Also, I’m not sure the evidence of current politics backs you up. Trump, Brexit, Johnson, etc - is that really that relevant to people being hardened by left wing people on social media? Or more likely right wing propaganda?

Portraying us all to be a certain type of person, bias towards one thing but not the other. If you read my posts you’ll see I’m not showing bias towards anything, other than wanting people to learn about the phrases they’re constantly throwing out when challenged.
