Momentum accusing rivals in trying to destroy the left wing element of the labour party.

Isn't the left wing element there because of them?

Isn't labour meant to be not left wing to begin with?

I don't know that much about it , but labour is meant to be central aren't they and lib Dems are the left wing party.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen someone be so wrong.

We really are in the era of misinformation.

What’s so dangerous is the misinformed thinking they don’t need to educate themselves when it’s pointed out how wrong they are.

@Kenshin You really do need to read up on the history of labour and where they should sit on the political spectrum.

@ForeverBlue92 You have a fundamental misunderstanding of politics, and the political spectrum which comes to the fore anytime you engage in political discourse. Would recommend you learn about left wing politics and the influence the right has on social media and how it’s shaping people views with constant misinformation, and you’re falling victim to it.

Not having a pop, but you lads are showing anger and frustration at a system you know very little about.

Thats just Left wing rubbish mate - the same as when the Right claim the BBC is some Left Wing propaganda tool.

I know politics more than most on here being largely centrist leaning centre left/right on different issues - and what I know is that the Left and Right are two cheeks of the same ass - both claiming mainstream media has it in for them and any opposition voice "doesn't understand" the real situation at hand.

@Kenshin you agree?

Ok, fair enough.

Just one more question, though. How would you describe the far left? What does it represent to you?

Oh and I’m not talking about mainstream media here, I’m talking about Facebook, Twitter etc. I feel like a lot of your opinions are shaped from what you read and see on the internet and that’s dangerous.

I know crazy how someone can have different views and be open minded on numerous issues.

As a hardline leftist its something you could never grasp as all your opinions are from the same school of thought.

I do BJJ and did Karate as a kid and its the same in martial arts - you go to one dojo and they claim their form of teaching is the best and all other martial arts are not the right path.

You go to a mosque then a church and it'll be the same thing

Heck we do it everyday as football fans - our club is special, born not manufactured etc.

Until you realise everything you believe is largely based of who is telling you it you'll never understand that there isn't a right or wrong, that Labour are our saviours and the Tories were crafted by the Devil himself.

Thus spoke FB.

I think the underlying tone of what is being discussed is about what might be best described as moderate v radical views.

If, for example, you look at what was Corbyns core team would you describe them as moderate or radical (possibly radical progressives).

The perfect example is a mate of mine is your typical scouse not english LFC fan who is always on about shankly being a socialist and big jurgens anti corporates - but here's the thing - had he grew up in the south coast he would likely be a Pompey supporting Tory.

The majority of people no matter be it politics, religion, football whatever join a school of thought based on their upbringing and who teaches them.

Ultimately there isnt a right or wrong answer - I tend to vote Labour only on the basis that I agree with their principles of the welfare state and the NHS over that of the Tories however there are policies I agree with the Tories on more than Labour - and more sadly these days I tend to disagree with both Labour and Tory on most things than I agree with either on.

Whereas I know alot of people who only vote Labour "because its not the Tories" and thats down to being brought up in Liverpool alone - if they grew in Bournemouth automatically that would change their whole political outlook.

Thats why the minority of centralists like myself are a thing of wonder and enchantment - we see past the petty BS that mires modern day politics and base our opinions on our own beliefs - not what the school of hard left or right tells us.

I don't know why you bother mate at this point.

No mate, Labour traditionally the most left of the three, Lib Dems centre-left normally but basically a "party for hire" since Clegg with no moral compass whatsoever, and the Tories are traditionally centre-right.

Labour have generally only achieved electoral success in this country when they are centre-left - looking after workers, the lower classes etc. whilst reining in the excesses of extreme socialism. The country as a whole is centre-right and therefore more tolerant of swings to the "far right" by the Tories than they are with swings to the "far left" with Labour.

I don't know why you bother mate at this point.

I’ve just asked him a perfectly reasonable question which he completely ignored to go on one of his ill informed rants.

He does this all the time. Anytime he’s asked about where he gets his information, or challenged on his views he doesn’t address it.

No one is saying he can’t have an opinion, just some people think his opinion is seriously ill informed and want to challenge that.
