I just think it's smart. He's inherited a party with a wildly left membership base who have admitted defeat and allowed him in, but ultimately still exist. He has to be seen as a unifier or he'll be accused of the same thing Corbyn did which was essentially gutting the PLP and having his own little cadre.

So for me it's about getting rid of the Momentum relics gradually and shaping the party in his image. He's not in an electoral cycle; he has five years to get it right. Showing himself as decisive on a Labour weakness and getting rid of a frontbencher he wants nowhere near the cabinet in the medium to long term is a win win.

You'll see how 'smart' this is.

Think Starmer was happy to be able to portray himself as the strong arm, no nonsense leader, given what his opposite number has been getting away with. Possibly giving him more leverage when calling for opposite ministers to be sacked.

Thing is almost guarantee you the method to restrain Mr Floyd which led to his death has been round much longer than state of Israel. There is nothing new in these restraint techniques they have been round for millenniums.

She didn't do that, though. Peake said the US cops learnt how to kneel on the neck of a black man off the Israelis; to actually say that requires a level of ignorance of what the US state has done to black communities over hundreds of years that is frankly hard to fathom, and then you have to wonder why on earth the Israelis have got involved in the sentence anyway.

That its cost RLB her SC position is terrible.
