You truly believe that Corbyn and Abbott would have handled this any better.....honestly.....

I reckon they would have handled it less arrogantly and more compassionately to be fair.

It was going to be a tough one for anyone, Johnson has just been exposed as a fraud which I think everyone pretty much knew anyway.

The main issue with politicians these days is hardly any of them can seem to handle public speaking, they cant appear on TV or whatever without making an utter arse of themselves. They react to questions like they are talking down the pub.

Apart from the gushing BS about Starmer, this is bang on the money about Labour's failure so far to provide a vision on Covid19 rather than just making the odd barbed comment on Johnson's incompetence.

What's really grinding my gears with Starmer and his team at the moment is the cowardice in failing to condemn the easing (in reality, evaporation) of the lockdown even though the first wave of the virus is still very much with us.

Starmer's front bench have abdicated their responsibility as an opposition party, and they'll be shouldering some of the blame when the country is back to April levels of mortality for Covid19.

Not good enough from "Mr Forensic", not good enough by a long chalk.

I believe if we were two years plus on from the December (Brexit) election this alternative way of COVID management would be viable. However, we are not many heart and minds of electorate are still with get Brexit done... Going in two footed and snapping Johnson will serve no purpose at this point, let the anger build within the Tory camp.
This crisis will not go away in four years time, it's not poor getting paid less or disabled people being kicked down. This is anyone's brother sister mum dad grandmother grandad dying years before their time because of Tory ideologies and their poor management of COVID19

You can dress this craven approach up all you want as 'good politics', but we have no leadership here from Labour; no attempt to fightback and make a difference, just follow the Tories and offer a few pathetic criticisms along the way.

Starmer is not the man to lead the opposition at this time.

Its a marathon not a sprint, unfortunately the Tories have 80 seats which buys them authority, which they are totally misusing. Alternative governance 6 months after the election, the electorate who voted for Johnson won't be in the mood just yet.

You and I both knew it, however, others are going to need the full experience of Tory rule.

Keir Starmer is the answer to 1 Across in the Telegraph cryptic crossword today.

Cant remember any politician being an answer before.

The clue is "Bad mistake error, ousting old, Labour leader" 4, 7.

Mr Forensic tweeting away about George Floyd when hundreds of people in this country are wiped out each day by a virus...and he's said f.a. about stopping the madness of unlocking the economy again and the massive wave of new deaths that will occur from it.

Any chance of opposing the opening of schools? Peoples lives are still at risk. You can oppose that without playing the party game, Keir.
He's got both eyes on the opinion polls, mate.

He likes what he sees and he doesn't want to deviate from his tactics which have brought the polls very close...even if that means not speaking out and doing the principled thing.

A phoney.

I like her but Dodds did not have a great showing on Marr this morning. She couldn’t give answers because there hasn’t been a line from the top.

If this was Corbyn, we’d have been lambasted for weak leadership. Just say the scientist say now is not the time for this to end and let it be.

Easy. Let’s rise again in the polls and still be principled.
