The US could, if it wanted to. £3bn a year would be missed by Israel.

The US is run by Christian Zionists though, so it'll never happen.
While not wanting to swing the debate too far away from its original topic and not dismissing your statement, I'm confident the US support of Israel isn't mainly this.

Israel-US relations are their strongest for a while and they've allowed a US military base to be built there, which only helps strengthen their influence in the region.

Without Israel, the US would have much less sway in the eastern-Med, North Africa and in and around the Middle East.

Not when you are taking them to task based solely on your belief that they belong to the same group as the perpetrators.

You’ll probably find that they would, entirely correctly, tell you to get lost.
Clear difference between "taking to task" and suggesting/requesting.

Is there? Why should a British citizen, who happens to be a Jewish, be required / asked / suggested by someone else to speak out about what the Israeli Government are doing?

If you want to condemn what the Israelis are doing, do it yourself - don’t try and co-opt others into doing it for you.

Who do you think the Israeli Govt would be more likely to be swayed by?

Would you ask a muslim family to have a word with mohammed bin salman about his naughtiness?
I'm not asking anyone to do anything, just odd that if someone makes a suggestion to the British Jewish community that they could do something positive on humanitarian grounds they are automatically labelled. What do you think of these Labour supporters?

It’s own citizens, then world opinion.

Please bear in mind that, in the UK at least, 1/3 of the community worship forms of Judaism that the Israeli state doesn’t legally recognise (and many on the right of Israeli politics refuse to describe as Jewish). This is an even bigger percentage in the US (iirc it’s around 50-60%).

So when you identify someone as being Jewish, and therefore someone who you think should speak out, there’s a good chance he or she isn’t someone the current Israeli leadership even considers as Jewish.

So please stop demanding / asking / persuading / cajoling them to speak out because of what another government is doing.

Do it yourself.

I think this thread was about the Labour Party not me,so the demanding, persuading, cajoling isn't really relevant,as I haven't seen any evidence that that has happened, suggesting it as an idea seems to be enough to get the anti-Semitic label.
Anyway how do you know what I do or don't do?

Glad some are prepared to take a stance.
"It is in this context that we welcome the Labour party’s endorsement of freedom of expression on Israel and on the rights of Palestinians. Labour is correct to recognise that while prejudice against Jewish people is deplorable, criticism of Israel’s government and policies can and must be made.
We urge all who wish to see an end to bigotry and racism, and who seek a more just society, to give their support to the Labour party".
