I'll be happy to help out in the BBQ hut, but it's strictly gratis. I don't really want to over complicate my self-assessment further, even if I do retain an accountant to sort it all out for me.

In the nicest possible way mate, it sounds like your staff are absolutely useless if you are turning a loss. It's almost like your running a pub based version of the civil service! They sound like the sort of people who wouldn't survive in the 'real world' of work.

Fire them, get the job done. Down with the blob and the anti-pub growth coalition!

I'm also fully expecting the forum monsters @Xizor and @Rita_Poon to volunteer at Pete's pub for the good of the community. Hopefully delivering a free lecture/workshop on business basics to Pete's staff so they can help turn a profit, ensure sustainability and save the village's social and cultural hub long-term beyond Pete's largesse.

The expenses scandal was legal; the procurement of medical supplies in the pandemic was legal...

Maybe just focus on what the sleazy gets are doing rather than mithering yourself with legal and illegal...it's parliament, they're pretty much covered by legality in everything they do.

Talk about not being able to see the wood for the trees.
