The MHRA have approved it and will be monitoring it Joey.

Interesting that the EMA have not approved it yet. https://www.ema.europa.eu/en/medicines/human/EPAR/ozempic

Not sure your description of how the drug works is accurate old bean. You might just need some Epson salts. Or a trip to the docs as there might be something unrelated going on.

I'm not joking on the latter point - don't confuse correlation or association with causation my man!
Google GLP1 cancer in trials on rats thyroids - that's guaranteed to spread everywhere,

In the nicest way possible, I don't think you really understand much about medicines, regulations and how healthcare works Joey.

Fine, you had a bad experience. Chill.
You take the drug & have a bad experience not nice waiting for biopsies when I am convinced as was my specialist it was a medicine taken recently that caused stomach & bowel bleeding problems 2 hours in the theatre for a camera shoved down & up - surprisingly symptoms wore off when that magic injection was stopped!

Yes, studies in rodents have shown that GLP-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs) can increase the risk of thyroid cancer in rats:
  • Rodents: Studies in rodents have shown that GLP-1RAs can increase the risk of thyroid C-cell hyperplasia and medullary thyroid carcinoma (MTC).
  • Dose-dependent: GLP-1RAs can have a dose-dependent effect on cell proliferation in thyroid dysplastic or premalignant lesions.
  • GLP-1 receptors: GLP-1 receptors are widely expressed on parafollicular C-cells membrane.

Joey, start a seperate thread on this please if you're that arsed. You're way off topic mate and it's getting boring. You're selectively quoting sauces and ignoring that very well qualified people review and monitor the evidence.

Again, I'm very sorry you personally had a bad experience.

You've turned it into a one man tirade about the efficacy of the medicine.

Which is not the point of discussion. So please use the other thread for that.

Or I'll start a general "things that annoy Joey thread" in the alehouse. Might do it anyway, there's a ton of stuff you get entertainingly hacked off about ;)

Sorry, it's a government policy, end of ! My point is the whole story is not being told as trials in Manchester begin, mate .....
