Current Affairs The Labour Party

I can get where you're coming from, yet (and this coming from something who isn't a Labour supporter - votes Lib Dem) it's still early days in what's a marathon.

There's a lot of stuff being thrown around about cronyism, gaffs, austerity and whatnot, but let's not forget they have inherited a horrendous position.

Are they worse than the Conservatives? Not for me, at least not yet. I also think as a party, there's a lot of people in government who are relatively inexperienced.

I think there's a steep learning curve they are facing, but if they can ride the wave they will get some stability back.

There’s only so many times they can keep going on about a supposedly horrendous position, especially as they immediately made it worse with the pay rises. But the BoE have chipped in £10Bn so the situation is nowhere near as bad as they want us to believe, but we will now get their conference in Liverpool blaming the Tories while simultaneously talking down the U.K.. The knock on effect reduces business confidence and also consumer confidence so investment and personal spending will go down and will reduce the tax take, then Reeves will clobber everyone and the tax take will go down again. They talked about growth before the election but seem determined to do everything they can to stifle and reduce it….

You voted for Brexit so forgive me for not paying any attention to any argument you have about damaging the economy.

I will judge Labour in a few years when they’ve had a chance to improve things. If that turns out to not be the case then fair enough. I am not going to judge them after a few months when they are trying to get the country back on track after 14 years of horrendous mismanagement.

The accepting of gifts is not a good look. I accept that. Jas Athwal should be binned as he is clearly not someone that should be an MP based on his business practices. On the Winter Fuel allowance I will wait and see. If it turns out that loads of pensioners are screwed by it then it will have been a terrible move. But by the same token, if it doesn’t create many issues then it’s a sensible move.

That doesn't naturally follow.

I made it plain in the election I supported a party not a leader and that the WPGB were a once-only convenient home for my vote. It didn't come with the clause that a leader was untouchable in terms of criticism. I criticised his kow-towing to the homophobia of many of the Muslim voters he attracted.

That's called 'consistency'. Try it.
Did you?

I think it's very strange you can attack a PM continuously for having a change of clothes but barely mention that you voted for a homophobe.
It's not just the corruption, it's the austerity.

And I didn't vote for a homophobe, I condemned any homophobia.

Apart from that you were 100% correct. Well done.

Part rental of clothes for future appearances.

How has the tory media blown this up when there is

a homeless crisis
brexit pressure on medication supply lines
the boats* still a priority
house building promises made
a police force demoralised and dissipating
a stagnant economy
nhs wait lists to resolve
GB energy to deliver
the scourge of domestic violence to face

but but but a pair of glasses and a nice new frock though. Didn't even have to pay a sub for the pub match watching the euro's final, Rayner as well! Grrr!!!!

He's gone a bit mad with the homophobia stuff. I don't think he believes a lot of it.

Well this is perfect.

I didn't vote for Starmer cronyism, I condemn any cronyism.

I didn't vote for Starmer removing the WFA, I condemn removing the WFA.

I didn't vote for Starmer's Red Tory gang, I condemn Red Tory gangs.

Feeling extra brilliant about my Labour vote now guys, who knew it was that easy?

Would you like to educate us all on how Brexit has damaged the economy…asking on behalf of Germany…..
