Well... the problem is twofold.

First, Labour is an extreme left Marxist party now, with student union politics and the associated real world incompetency that goes with it at the head of it.

Second, the Conservatives have pandered to the right of their party and completely disowned the urban areas, instead focussing on casual racism and elite profiteering, torn asunder by Brexit.

You therefore have an absolutely massive middle ground that are completely unrepresented in parliament.

The question is whether an entity can exploit that middle ground. My view is nothing can, because politicians aren't principled enough. They've allowed both major parties to be hijacked by extreme politics.

I firmly, completely believe the UK would vote overwhelmingly for a centre left or centre right party, but there isn't one and there won't be one for a long, long time now.
I have a feeling that Brexit will end in a stalemate. As we near the end of March, legally binding commons motions will be brought forward and passed. Firstly to prevent leaving with no deal, and secondly to stop remain being an option. So the only option left is to agree a deal, which we will be unable to do by the deadline because Parliament can't agree on one that is also acceptable to the Eurozone.

So the only option then left open is for Europe to agree an extension to the deadline.

I believe that it will then be put to the people in the form of a new general election in which two new parties come to the fore, a Brexit party and a Remain party. I agree with you that the majority of the national electorate is fed up with the polarised views of the two major parties, and will vote according to their Brexit beliefs. One of the two new parties will get in power and will deliver on their remit. Bear in mind that 13m votes was sufficient to give Blair an overwhelming majority in 1997, so the chances are that considerably less will be sufficient to carry out their task.

So the new party do their stuff and we either remain or leave. We are then left with a Govt totally unfit for purpose because the only thing they agreed on was their stance on

lollollol

If only.

I am glad I stopped voting Labour for the time being on LBC this guy I know hes from the Daily mail but being interviewed over his new book about Corbyn if a % of it is true then I am justified - but the 7 who stood down today not interested in them apart from the Wavertree MP and by the way no fuss was made when Frank Field who went independant who I respect -
Tom Bowers book an investigative journalist book - A Dangerous Hero -i.e. Jeremy Corbyn sounded horrific { the author has investigated, and wrote about many famous people}

No way will I vote for a non socialist party or a breakaway party as they are just Lib dems really - I feel sorry for Labour members in that link who are being used in a abhorrent way - - like many I and others have no party to vote for ATM....
I was a member of two unions even as retired employee always supported Unions - I left the UNITE, union and told them why 2 years ago it was over Corbyn ......
I kept my membership for life with my other Trade Union, and if thing change which the author of the book interviewed on LBC this am stated will not happen for a good while - he seem to state that Corbyn has always hid behind a smokescreen,{ This is a common practice in his whole polictical career} John Mcdonnell was pulling the strings.........
Smokescreen?? He has been ideologically consistent his entire career.

I'm curious Joe, have you ever sent money to a deposed Nigerian prince?

Joey, you are believing things you read in the Daily Mail. Stop doing it, as the paper is rubbish.
It was on LBC I don't read the mail so tell me why there are now about 9 independents in the Labour party do they read the Daily Mail too or do you read the Morning Star..?
Which would not bother me in the least by the way I have been deemed to be a Tory on here over my Brexit views yet many many Labour voters voted Brexit - yet I am not - today it has highlighted that the Labour party is sadly being taken over - if we had a good leader they would have won the last GE ...
I hope Corbyn will never gain power, but it saddens me as I hate the tories too and their leader too.......

The hard left extremists have totally ripped the Labour Party to shreds. It goes from the Shadow Cabinet all the way through to local councillors.

It’s an absolute disgrace, plotting moves against anyone who doesn’t stand for the same socialist values. Corbyn has ruined a working mans party

I think you'll find the labour party is returning to its purpose. Your rhetoric is as sensationalist as Kay Burley.

If you were a moderate socialist and an ex-union member you would do everything you can to get the anti-trade union, anti-welfare state pro crony capitalism tories out surely?
Not with Corbyn, and Momentum at the helm, and the anti semitism = NO
I am not fond of Chuka Umunna either, he never put up for the leadership, and he should shut up too.....
