Why should I be paying record taxes while freeloaders who inherit don't have to make a contribution?

It's high time the strivers and workers got something while the workshy who rely on inheritance contribute a bit (in my view).

Well, I for one have never inherited anything as my mother had no money. My kids are not workshy, all have jobs and families they are are attempting to bring up , in the U.K., USA and the Philippines. They are doing a great job. Why should they not inherit money that I spent my life earning and paid tax on, but as I say I’ve already given it away, as many others will do to keep it out of the clutches of a government that will just waste it anyway…..

Does it ? No not for me it doesn't. I'll leave it there have a nice night.

Fair enough, it hasn't really seemed you've understood any of it anyway. Grasping onto a relative family pittance to ensure those in the social strata above you can keep your kids held down, well if that's what keeps you warm at at night then keep tugging that forelock.

It's not theirs. They didn't earn it and don't deserve it due to an accident of genetics.

I have a son, that has basically given up his own business to help me look after his mother with Alzheimer’s. It’s pretty well a full time job, he doesn’t get paid for it, it’s hard and it relieves pressure on the NHS. This will probably continue for a number of years with him having nothing, he will almost certainly then look after me when my wife passes away. Are you seriously saying he doesn’t deserve some form of thank you, because the government doesn’t help…..

Carer's allowance is a thing.
No one is looking to capitalise on the immediate suffering of an individual.
To present that case in such a manner is scurrilous.

I understand your hurt, at least to some extent. I did 3 counts of BC. And still lost. To frame the country against the immediate suffering of an individual is disingenuous. It does more harm. Angry.

What's absolutely amazing about this Pete is that you're basically arguing in favour of an enhanced welfare state where none of the sacrifces would be necessary, but you can only do so via the lens of your family's own suffering and in the context of not having to contribute towards the society where that could potentially happen.

I've never seen such a self-owning Tory sob story, well done.
